The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable and cosy. The swimming pool added something extra special to our mini break. We will always remember our stay at this beautiful property.

Positive: Very clean and cozy. Nicely decorated and equipped. Nearby, 50 meters, is the lovely Fox pub for meals as well. The environment is green and bucolic. The cottage, while quite tiny, is laid out thoughtfully with a garden and small seating area in the rear. Afternoon sunshine is nice.
Negative: Not to say that I “didn’t like”. It was fine for me as a solo traveller, but it is quite small. I’d say the 2 up, 2 down is made up of 4 equally sized rooms of about 9 or 10 square meters each. New carpeting throughout (except kitchen/dining area), including the stairway which is rather steep. I didn’t mind; indeed, climbing up with a bit of handwork to steady me felt quite youthful (I’m 67) and fun. Maybe not everyone will feel the same? What else? Well, there is, imo, too much furniture in the living room — a sofa, two armchairs and a large ottoman — for the space and, presumably, the number of occupants who might be staying (unless 2 are children). I’d be happy with less seating options and more free space but that’s certainly a matter of taste. For cyclists, the extremely narrow side passageway to the rear garden is virtually impossible to pass unless you have a very narrow set of bars (like some “fixie” bikes” or want to disassemble your front end. Perhaps by removing the wheel? My E-bike simply would not go through so ended up in the front room with me. A bit of a squeeze amongst the armchairs and sofa, but I made it work while taking great care not to soil the new carpeting. One thing I truly didn’t enjoy, but not any fault of the owners, is the fast traffic on the extremely narrow (something of a theme here?) roadway out front. The cottage sits about 1 meter back from the tarmac and the roadway is a single lane. This doesn’t bother the hurried drivers using this small lane (a through road btw) to rush to destinations unknown. Can be noisy, if not dangerous. Plenty of dog walkers seemed not to mind. Finally, I would have preferred having been given a choice of bedrooms but the owners had locked the one on the garden side so I had to sleep on the front where the traffic passes. Fortunately, this nuisance abates by a reasonable hour so didn’t disturb my sleep. Nights are quiet.
