Positive: The location is just idyllic, with amenities still within easy reach and plenty of amazing places to visit in the surrounding areas. The Lodge was immaculate and comfortable. The hot tub was very well maintained and just the best way to relax in the evening. Even my dog seemed very at-home here watching the sheep and cows. Plenty of grassy area around the Lodge for the dog to explore on long lead and the decking area was lovely to sit and enjoy breakfast and meals. This has been just a perfect getaway to recharge the batteries and would definitely return
Negative: I am being very picky here, I guess the only slight nuisance which is no reflection of the owners or the property because it is out of their control but in an evening there was continuous noise of dogs barking in the distance. Apart from this there are certainly no complaints and nothing to ruin my break away
Summary: Perfect getaway

Positive: A very beautiful cabin in a very beautiful location. Being on the side of the valley in the beautiful green valleys of Wales, with sheep roaming in the fields, what a beautiful spot to stay. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stay and we really enjoyed both the cabin, all of its features, and lots of nice local walks and trips out. Very friendly hosts too, who helped sort out requests and made check in very easy, with a nice bottle and glasses waiting for us. I would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway for a couple, some friend, a small family, or solo traveller. Also, the wifi and internet was excellent, which was a really pleasant surprise! (noting in case anyone wanted to work away). I also really liked the photo diary that journalled the construction of the cabin itself. This was really nice, and I would have certainly liked to read more about it and the history of the area. The standard and finish of the cabin is really really nice.
Negative: There were a few things that made this a 9 rather than a 10 for me (and I hope the hosts can understand why and perhaps find my suggestions here helpful): 1. I found the cabin to be dog-tolerant rather than dog-friendly. There were quite a lot of rules and restrictions related to our dog companion, many of which were not made clear up front. We respected the rules, but these rules could be softened somewhat. For example, providing one or two dog blankets to place on top of the sofa to allow a dog on top would be friendly, while protecting the sofa, instead of the rule that dogs must stay on the floor only. We brought our dog's bed, so he was fine, but it would have been cosy to have him up with us. Also, creating a dog-friendly enclosed space to the side of the cabin seems like something that would be easy to put together, especially as there are already various types of fencing around the cabin (which show that it's feasible to do it either economically or aesthetically). 2. There were a lot of rules to read through on arrival. A lot. Several pages. Most of these make absolute sense but I found a couple of them a bit strange - notably the rule that instructs guests to strip all the bedding before leaving the property. We did this, because we wanted to respected the hosts and their beautiful cabin, but I found it frankly quite cheeky. Being asked to strip the bedding "for cleanliness" made it feel less like a luxury cabin and more like a naughty youth hostel. We've stayed in many, many very nice places, and we've never been asked to strip the bedding and place it in a corner. Is this rule really necessary? :) 3. It was for some days very stormy while we visited, which is par for the course but maybe a few board games or a chess set could be added to the cabin's amenities. I had hoped to find something to buy at the charity shops in Machynlleth and leave behind in the cabin, but alas didn't find anything!
Summary: Beautiful cabin, beautiful location, fantastic views, quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay.

Positive: We have just checked out after a 3 night stay at Bryn Eiddon Log Cabin. This cabin and the place has allowed us to witness, explore and experience the true beauty of Wales. Check in was really smooth and welcoming with the owner leaving us with some welcome instructions and a bottle of wine ready to crack open, when we got there. The cabin and the place itself just takes you in with awe, the view outside of the hills (bryns), the flock of sheep, the beautifully maintained fields and of course the hot tub and outdoor seating area. If you’re after sole privacy for you and/or your family - this is the place for you. You’re literally in the middle of nowhere and a part from a few passing cars on the road away from the property you don’t see or hear anyone else. This is not a complex of multiple cabins, you really are on your own and have full privacy. The property has everything you need, free parking, two comfortable double size bedrooms (once again with some wonderful views), a nice clean shared bathroom, a spacious kitchen and living area (stocked with essential equipment for cooking, crockery, glasses, cooking pans and trays etc (everything you need in a kitchen), an indoor dining table and lounge, including a wonderful log burner. The photograph album of the cabin being developed and guest book was also a nice touch. I highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a relaxed few days in Wales, privacy, surrounded by beauty and only a short driveway from other villages, towns, national parks and shops. This place will leave you with surreal photographs and memories - it really is that wonderful!
Negative: If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to add a bar table near the hot tub, somewhere to place drinks or phones while you’re soaking in the view would be a really useful touch, as well some clothes hooks to hang your towel etc. Also, while being able to open the doors and windows to let the sunshine in is lovely, on windier days they tend to slam shut quite frequently. It might be worth considering having the windows open outwards instead, to help prevent this.
Summary: A hidden gem in the middle of Wales!
