Positive: Check in was very quick and efficient. Reception staff was friendly and supportive

Negative: The room was very small. There was no wardrobe to put my clothes. Furniture in the room was very basic.

Summary: Reasonable value for money. Good for a short stay (one or two nights max).

Positive: I love this hotel, which seems like it’s from another era. It’s clean and comfortable, and there’s a really nice lounge on the first floor, where you can sit as a group, or relax if you arrive too early to check in. The staff don’t speak English, but they are very sweet and try their best to help. Breakfast is a choice between a set local or western plated meal. This was my second time staying here - I wanted to return, I just love the whole vibe that is so different from hotels we’re used to. But if you’re looking for a western-style hotel and full service, you might be better off elsewhere. I highly recommend Buudai for historical romantics!!

Negative: Unfortunately water was only intermittently available, so it was not easy to plan showering. We were given bottled water to wash our faces. I think it was a town supply issue, as someone at another hotel had a day without water. It didn’t happen when I stayed here last year, so I don’t think it’s an ongoing problem.

Positive: The hotel is located just 8-10 minutes away from the train station by car. The twin room was not that large I expected but still nice and comfortable.

Negative: Unfortunately, the room had very limited lights inside (no ceiling light at all). The hair dryer was broken, so I asked for a new one. The receptionists and the hotel staff do not speak English, so I had to use Google Translator to be able to communicate with them at all. Many of the lights were turned off because of the few customers at the hotel.

Positive: Seemed clean, bed was good, WiFi worked well for me (though maybe because the hotel was almost empty). Very quiet at night (again perhaps because empty). Cooked breakfast was okay in a rather minimalist way (and see below). Nice terrace out front. Staff fairly helpful

Negative: A bit gloomy inside. Lightless dining room, sombre bedroom. Stingy: one small bottle of drinking water in the room; at breakfast either juice or tea (it seemed). Breakfast only from 8 a.m. Dinner was okay but too much grease and salt or MSG. Ulaanbaatar prices. There are other places in Darkhan, just not on this platform. I don’t generally review but found the high rating of this place to be deceptive.
