Positive: Ok, if you see this spot available for your dates, book it!!! It is a perfectly rustic cabin on the oceanside. Close enough to walk to Hanga Roa proper within 5-10 minutes. There are cooking facilities so you can save money on eating out, with plenty of fun fruit and veggie stands closeby. Airport pick up and drop off. Petero was a great host, he answered our questions quickly, was able to offer a late check out which we so appreciated. It was such a charming spot, very private and reasonably quiet. Those views, THOSE VIEWS!! We'd stay again in a heartbeat. We left a part of that heartbeat on Rapa Nui, what a special special place in the world.

Negative: It was all so good. Perfectly rustically simple and suited the Rapa Nui environment

Positive: Overall, that was a great experience! Violeta (host) met us at the airport, on the way to cabana showed us all key places on the main street, provided clear instructions, and btw on our departure day she also gave us a ride to the airport. The best thing about our cabana is view! It's fantastic, you can enjoy the ocean view, rocks and waves as long as you want. The cabana style is tropical countryside which is very nice. It's filled with light but you can use roll blinds if you want. It has beautiful terrace, great for chilling time. There is all necessary inside cabana, even in case you want to cook for yourself. We had just a few days and preferred restaurants, but there was still great to have fridge, coffee machine and microwave (to warm up empanadas:) Bed was comfortable. And there was hot water in the shower, no problem. Only good memories!

Negative: If you are a light sleeper as I, you may have some issues with a noise from cars and motorbikes from the road nearby. However, the road is not very busy, so generally it's not that bad. For my boyfriend it was not a problem at all. So, it's personal thing. One thing I'd recommend to the host - place anti-mosquito nets to the windows. It's hot to sleep with closed windows in summer season, but with the open ones you can be bitten with mosquitoes. It didn't ruin our trip though. Just some discomfort. Again, overall, that was great experience.

Summary: I'd love to come back and stay again at the same place! I'm very happy with the choice we made.

Positive: Location, Location, Location. Outstanding view of the ocean from the house. We would get together every evening on the balcony and were happy to spend hours talking with the ocean in the foreground. It is 5 -10 mins walk from downtown, restaurants, and stores. Ocean sounds and cool breeze lulled us to sleep every night. Large enough for 2 adults (& a child), good beds, adequately provisioned kitchen. Violeta (the landlady) is communicative, responsive and very helpful.

Negative: Bathroom needs updates and a more thorough cleaning. I can understand that it is difficult to do in humid climate and that too so close to the ocean. The property can do with modernization.

Positive: Excellent location overlooking the ocean. It is wonderful to wake up to blue skies and the sound of waves breaking. The host make a great effort to keep the place clean. It is small but cozy. There are outside seating areas with flowers around, and at least when we were there, the weather was very benign and great for sitting outdoors. The centre of Hanga Roa is just a short 5 minute walk with plenty of restaurants and other facilities.

Negative: Quite cramped and old with creaking doors and minimum kitchen space. The door to the outside must be watched like a hawk. If you close the door behind you without the key, you'll lock yourself out, and if you didn't take your phone out or your wallet, you'd be in a bit of a mess.

Positive: You're across the street from the ocean, and can hear the waves hitting the shore at night. Convenient location a five minute walk from the center of town. One of the best restaurants we tried is next door, Taha Tai.

Negative: It can be a little warm in the room during the day, but cools down at night and is quite comfortable.

Summary: Comfortable oceanside guesthouse is a great value.
