Moose Wilson Road Cabin | Cabin On Historic Guest Ranch. Private! Fishing! Secluded!

1 Bedroom Cabin in Moose Wilson Road, Wilson

Gabrielle's Cabin is located on an historic guest ranch in Wilson, WY. The ranch was an active dude ranch in the Jackson Hole valley in the 50's, 60's and 70's. The ranch is as tranquil and peaceful today, as it was back in the day of dudes, coming to Jackson Hole for their summer vacation. The ranch has remained virtually unchanged for the past 70 years. There is a main lodge and several out buildings and cabins where the guests stayed. We would like to offer you one of these cabins, Gabrielle's Cabin.
Gabrielle's cabin is a cozy space with a living room with a twin size pull out sofa, bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a well equipped kitchen, including an electric range, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Free wifi and a Smart TV.
If tranquility, privacy, nature, and solitude are important to you for your stay in Jackson Hole, our property will be the place for you. No condo's here. From your cabin, you can walk across the yard to Fish Creek, and practice your fly fishing skills. You can stroll along Fish Creek Road and enjoy the quiet country road. You can sit by the creek on a hot summer afternoon and completely relax. Gabrielle's Cabin is fairly basic, quaint and romantic, without many bells and whistles. Our family has enjoyed this gem of a property for the past 70 years. We consider ourselves to be off the beaten path, and we believe your stay with us will be a memorable experience.
In Wilson, 2 miles away, you can dine at Nora's Fish Creek Inn or the famous Stagecoach Bar. Groceries are available at Hungry Jack's General Store. Bagel's and the perfect cup of coffee are available at Pearl Street Bagels. And you can grab some delicious fish tacos at Chippy's. There are several other small businesses including Wilson Backcountry Sports, Teton Gravity Research, Wilson Hardware and Wilson Gas and Convenience Store. We are a 15 minute drive to downtown Jackson Hole, and 20 minutes to Grand Teton National Park. We are approximately a two hour drive to Yellowstone National Park.
We also live on the premises in the main lodge. Our family settled on this property in the early 50's, and we are the second, third and fourth generations to live here. We are familiar with the Jackson Hole area and can provide innumerable suggestions for enjoying your stay in Jackson Hole.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days at this remote property nicely located along Fish Creek. This very clean cabin is somewhat compact and the furnishings basic and well used, but plenty adequate. The kitchen is well equipped. The queen bed has an egg crate foam mattress topper that proved to be surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom is adequate but the shower stall is very tiny and awkward to use. The best part of our stay was the wildlife in the area. 2 of our 4 days there, we awoke to see moose in the yard outside the cabin. One of those days, a mother & young moose stayed around the yard all day long. We also spotted moose along the road into Wilson. The only real downside to this location is the traffic back ups you experience getting to the Park. There are only 2 ways to get to there -- thru Jackson Hole itself, or past Teton Village to the Moose Road into the park. Jackson Hole traffic was always inched along all the way thru town. The narrow Moose Road, once in the park, is rough gravel and was always backed up with stop-and-go tourists looking for wildlife. The obvious solution -- leave early. If you're looking for luxurious accommodations, this is not your place. If you want to get away from the tourist hustle-bustle and enjoy nature, this is for you. We would definitely return here again.

Summary: This extremely basic cabin provided an excellent home base for our 8-day stay in the Tetons. We loved eating dinner and watching birds each evening on the small deck overlooking the pond. The bed was very comfortable. It was fun to see the mama moose and her calf.

Summary: The property description and pictures are misleading. We thought we were getting a private cabin. Instead we got a duplex with permanent tenants. Everything else was as described.

Summary: A beautiful secluded property for those of us who don’t like crowds! A bonus was the variety of weather provided during our stay: sunny and warm, cloudy, cold and icy, rainy. We enjoyed watching a large moose desecrate several bushes from the safety of the cabin! We would love to return to do more hiking in the area.
