Positive: Lovely Catalan converted farmhouse Stayed here for a night travelling thro to SE Spain. The hotel is located just outside L'Espunyola (a small hamlet - does have a restaurant if you want choice!) The building is lovely and tastefully refurbished to a very high standard. As we arrived c. 1545hrs & it was a 'rest day' & I had missed the whatsapp message on how to checkin! We phoned for guidance. On entry I checked the room - all good & very comfortable. We decided to visit Brioude for something to eat & drink which was a 12 minute drive. We also called in at Avia (small town with beautiful church) on our return journey back to the hotel. Actually found a nice little bar open near the church full of locals around 1730hrs. Very entertaining. We had reserved dinner at the hotel for 2030/45hrs - we were one of three couples. The hosts (did not get names) a young lady who was happy to converse in English / Spanish/Catalan & a young chap serving drinks. Dinner was pleasant and ok in a nice setting , however the food was not quite where it needed to be for the establishment. I had the rice with rabbit (way too many bones & yes I am well aware rabbit is typically that way but one does expect some meat) the octopus sounded great but was a tad bland. However don't be put off on what was a very pleasant stay. Overall, a very clean & professionally run hotel. One point of caution don't leave with the room keys like I did!! I had to courier them back at my cost! Would I stay again, yes but probably eat elsewhere for dinner.
