Positive: The room was very big with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen fully equipped. Mayco from reception is amazing and was in touch with us over WhatsApp from the moment we reserved the room. Helped us to reserve attractions, gave us a lot of info, and made our stay feeling at home.
Negative: There wasn't always hot water in the shower. We couldn't manage to use the TV in the family room (but didn't ask for help).

Positive: This hotel seems to be a new build or recently renovated because the interior was sparkling. The floors are tiled throughout and the bedrooms had ample storage and reading lights. There is no A/C, which worried me but the climate in Monteverde is much cooler than in the lowlands or on the coast and we were comfortable with the ceiling fan. The kitchen is equipped with a kettle, coffee maker and cooking oil, salt and pepper which was greatly appreciated as we cooked several meals during our stay. Access to the hotel is through an unpaved and narrow alley and the grounds are small. However, we felt safe and secure with the gate and high walls. We enjoyed watching Netflix in the evening and watching the sun set over the Pacific from the seating area. Breakfast was excellent and the service was exceptional. Michael and Glenn gave us recommendations for different nature reserves to visit and Michael took the time to show us the bugs we could hear from the seating area outside - a type of cicada. The hotel is exposed on the western face of the mountain and the wind howled between the buildings at night. We had some trouble sleeping as a result, but only the first night was exceptionally blustery. This is a great place to stay, and the nicest accommodations we booked during our trip. The only downside is it's distance from the town centre. We rented a car and did struggle to find parking in Santa Elena. Glenn advised us to park at the plaza Commercio, and that was helpful. The cafeteria only serves breakfast, I believe, and you need to order it the day before. That wasn't a problem though and I would recommend staying here. It is great value and very comfortable.

Positive: The hotel is small and private. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom was a bit dark, but fine. The best part about the hotel is the staff. They are wonderful, warm, welcoming and always with a smile. Breakfast was fine and satisfying.
Negative: The bed squeaked every time you moved! This is something I found in every hotel during our tour of Costa Rica .
