To this day it remains a lovely place with breathtaking views. Summary: We had a great time at this spacious home. Beautifully restored old home with modern amenities, close to extended family. Perfect space for family holiday celebration. And, pet friendly a huge plus! We will be back.

Summary: Enjoyed time with our adult children at this property. Kitchen was very well equipped. Bedrooms comfortably and roomy. Highlight of visit was watching Bald Eagle soaring from the nest across the water. Property manager Sandra was responsive and helpful. Thank you!

Summary: This home built in 1784 by a river boat captain is one of the most impressive VRBO locales we've ever found! It has been lovingly & thoughtfully renovated with up-to-date and tasteful finishes. Incredible kitchen. Sitting on the back deck at night watching the shooting stars was a favorite part of our stay! The water is from a well & has a sulfur smell but a water dispenser with hot/cold bottled water is provided for drinking! The house manager was so thoughtful and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We truly hated to check out.

Summary: Beautifully renovated classic historic home with all modern amenities!! The owners were gracious and attentive! Sandra was excellent and responsive within minutes if any small issue come about. The river view was spectacular!! History and comforts combined!

Summary: Recently and excellently updated while retaining historical feel. Great kitchen for cooking and gathering. Beautiful views of the river and the bald eagles living in a nest across the river. Cozy fireplaces and bedding. Terrific game room (though chilly for winter). Only downside was sulfur smell in the tap water. However, plenty of bottled water was provided.

Summary: This is a Beautiful and spacious home. Kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking our Thanksgiving meal there with family. Great entertainment space on the lower lever to keep kids ( and adults) occupied on a rainy day. Beds were comfortable and updated bathrooms were very clean. Would definitely recommend staying here as we had a great time celebrating with family.

Summary: My wife and I decided to spend a couple of weeks in and around the Hudson Valley for the many historical/tourist sites and to enjoy the changing of the leaves - and Captain's Quarters was the perfect 'home' for us. The house is meticulously renovated w oversized rooms throughout and a beautiful chef's kitchen (our son who was with us is a chef and would know!) We enjoyed the river view from the back deck every night for cocktails and/or grilling. The game room allowed for many competitive games of darts, ping pong and foosball. The contactless check-in/out was easy and our host Sandra was prompt and complete in her communications and a joy to work with. We would definitely use the Captain's Quarters again should we travel back to the area!

Summary: My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Schodack landing property and we had a terrific time. The renovated property is top notch and the master bed was amazingly comfortable. Waking up every morning to a gorgeous view of the sunrise on the water was refreshing. Andrea (property manager) was very helpful and communicative while we were there - she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of during our stay. The only challenge was we were a bit far from the grocery store or restaurants, but you sacrifice a little further drive for the peace and quiet of Schodack Landing. I would recommend this property for any family looking for a peaceful and rewarding vacation spot!
