Notre vieille gare a été entièrement rénovée et aménagée avec tout le confort moderne. Idéalement située, à proximité de la Cité de Carcassonne et des châteaux Cathares, vous vous reposerez en profitant de tout son confort, de sa décoration soignée, de son grand billard à la française, de sa grande terrasse couverte de 35 m2, et de sa piscine privée à l'usage exclusif et permanent des locataires. Il y a aussi un petit jardin dans deux cote´s de le gite. Mais biensur, tout les enfents sont bienvenues dans le grand jardin privée de proprietaire!! Le proprietaire est suedoise et parle Anglaise, Francaise, Espagnol, Allemand et Suedoise. Elle aime cette vielle gare et veut dire bienvenues a experience un peu de paradis!!

Summary: A property with quirky charm, a lovely pool and a very light / high downstairs living area. Ideal for easy train access to Carcassone, and good walking / birdwatching nearby.

Summary: We had a great week exploring this fantastic area which is steeped in history! Annie was a lovely host - it was cold during our stay and she provided us with a plentiful supply of wood for the stove to ensure our comfort. The station itself is full of character and the small train that passes each day just adds to the whole experience. Would highly recommend! Merci beaucoup Annie x

Summary: The old station is a real gem, nicely restored and retaining its charm. The little train (2 carriages) comes past every couple of hours but only until 7pm, and it's fun to see it go by! Annie met us at the gate (parking 10 feet away) and showed us around. The pool is great, exclusively for guest use, and is sheltered on all four sides and totally private. We loved our mini-break there, Annie was a great and friendly hostess, and she has a well-stocked Brocante right next door! We will definitely come back, thank you for a wonderful experience !

Summary: Quirky converted station perfect for a family with older children. The double height open plan living area felt spacious and the occasional trains passing at the end of the terrace only added interest. We loved the pool (a welcome relief from the heat) and Annie was very welcoming and helpful. Would certainly return.

Summary: We had a delightful stay at the little station in Pomas. It's truly unique, and has a lot of character with a view over the beautiful countryside. It felt spacious and homely. Annie welcomed us warmly and provided us with lots of tips. We hope to be able to return some day. Highly recommendable!

Summary: The house has its own very special charme and is stocked with all the everyday basics. We were staying with our two children and were allowed to bring both of our dogs. The property is fenced in on all sides and is therfore suited for dogs. Annie asked for a special deposit due to bad experiences with former guests and their dogs. The deposit was returned without a problem after our stay. Annie is living next door and really goes out of her way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There was a problem with the pool pump and Annie spent hours cleaning the pool and worked to fix the problem as soon as possible. We discovered on a saturday afternoon that the dishwasher was not working. Annie organised within half an hour a plumber to come over and fix the problem. The area is beautiful. Pomas is a quiet little town with a small general store and restaurant. Its about a 10 minute drive to the next bigger village Limoux where you will find everything you need. The only negative thing to say is that the wooden front porch is rotten in some places and in need of repair. There a few screws sticking out in places where you have to watch your step. Thank you Annie for a lovely time.

Summary: Fantastic location only 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne and an hour from the coast. A quirky property in a converted train station where two-carriage trains still operate infrequently and certainly do not disturb you . Lovely pool in a private garden with another terrace for dining on the other side of the property. Master bedroom upstairs with ensuite shower but toilet is on open mezzanine floor next to the other double bed. Anne, who lives next door, is super friendly and always happy to help and give local tips. Excellent value for money in peak season but there could be room for improvement with the comfort and cleanliness.

Summary: The property was in a very quiet location and was a nice place to stay, Bertrand was absolutely fabulous, Unfortunately due to our problems with our knees it was a bad idea to choose a location with a mezzanine as the stairs were very steep. The local restaurant is a must, very friendly as is the shop owner and his wife. The trains which stop right outside the rear patio do not interfere with your enjoyment, in fact quite a talking point when you send pictures back home.

Summary: The photos of this charming and interesting accommodation do it justice and still leave more to enjoy. Thank you Bertrand for your prompt and helpful pre-arrival responses to my questions and then your friendly manner on arrival and departure. This property is perfectly located for those who want to hire a car and explore the local and neighbouring regions. Near the airport, supermarkets and petrol station make it functionally great. The property is fun, practical, quirky and ideal for a French experience get-away. Around the lovely pool there are the most beautifully scented plants that fill the air in the evening whilst winding down and listening to the birdsong. There are more than enough places to drive near and far or else walk if that takes your fancy. We enjoyed a BBQ on the decking on most evenings but also ventured out for some meals....all were great. Being a renovated train station gives a charm that you can't ignore, nor would you want to...it's been wonderfully done and we enjoyed it a lot. A lucky find and a happy holiday for us...thank you! Summary: This has been the most interesting and enjoyable place where we have ever stayed in France. Bertrand gave us a very warm welcome and we were confident that there would be no problem in contacting him if we had a problem. We loved watching the trains go past and took four trips on the 1 Euro train into Carcassonne which stops about 30 seconds walk away. We are an older couple and not train enthusiasts! Pomas is a very pretty little village and we did several walks nearby. We also walked from Trebes to Carcassonne along the Canal du Midi ( train to Carcassonne and then No.10 bus at from the Place Gambetta to Trebes). You do need to co-ordinate train and bus times as they are not very frequent. We hired a car but used it mainly to go to the supermarket near Limoux. We would have liked to invite family members to join us in the future but washing and sleeping arrangements would be awkward for more than one adult couple. Not a criticism because the conversion is lovely. The provision of equipment and the standard of cleanliness were excellent. Many thanks Bertrand and we hope to see you next year commitments permitting. Peter and Susan
