Situated less than 200m from one of the finest stretches of sand on the Costa de la Luz, Casa Almadraba offers a combination of beach, comfort, and mature gardens that is very difficult to find on the Cádiz coast. Within the exclusive residential area of Roche, the house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac that terminates with steps leading down to the perfect Atlantic beach that stretches some 7km in one direction, where it finishes at the abandoned tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri, and 500m in the other, where low sandstone cliffs rise to form a series of tiny sandy coves and rock pools known as the Calas de Conil. Built less than 20 years ago, the house is Andalus in style, with white-washed walls and terracotta roof tiles. It sits in a mature garden, shaded by umbrella pines and surrounded by palms, rubber plants, bougainvillea, and wisteria. It has a stunning 10m x 5m chlorine-free pool that is fully enclosed and is surrounded by a traditional brick terrace and bamboo pergola that filters dappled sunlight for the ideal siesta.
The décor is simple yet comfortable, with whitewashed walls, lovely black and white prints of the surrounding area, and high-quality furnishings. It is a house that is both cool and fresh in the summer (all the bedrooms have traditional esparto blinds) and cosy in the winter months (there is central heating and an open fire). Previous guests have enjoyed, in particular, the enclosed pool area and the choice of sitting-out areas (entrance patio, dining terrace, pool, and garden). There is satellite TV, DVD, and a music system.
Accomodation at Casa Almadraba is on two floors. The ground floor includes a pretty entrance patio full of scented plants, a large drawing-room with separate dining area, fully-fitted kitchen, large double bedroom with bathroom and direct access to pool, and a small bedroom with shower-room. As well as the entrance patio, the drawing-room also has access on to a covered terrace used for dining (built-in BBQ in the garden), and the dining area accesses onto the swimming pool. On the first floor we will find three bedrooms (one double and two twins) and three bathrooms (one ensuite).
There is off-road parking for one car, although there is no problem leaving the car on the road. A walk of about 500m will take us to the local shop, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants, and childrens’ playground. Roche also has its own tennis and padel courts and five-a-side football pitches. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from within walking distance, some of which are now staying open all year. A 5-minute drive will then provide you with a far larger selection of both bars and restaurants. You could spend a wonderful holiday here without a car, and just hire bikes; but, assuming you will have a car, it’s 15 minutes to Conil, 20 minutes to the hill-top village of Vejer-de-la-Frontera, 30 minutes to Cadiz, 40 minutes to Tarifa and Jerez, and 90 minutes to Seville, all of which are well worth visiting.

Summary: The house is super nice, lot of space, well equipped and the garden with the pool is just perfect! Roche has so many nice beaches close by which makes it a great location for a relaxing holiday on the beach. Check in+out was super easy and the recommendation in the "house book" were brilliant. Summary: This property was just the right setting for our families special birthday The beach was a 5min walk & the villa was nice & cosy The only downside was you needed a car as it was too far to walk to any shops or restaurants 5k each way to the supermarket which my son & daughter in law did ( too far me though )

Summary: Wonderful house. Andrew had been very helpful and we enjoyed the stay. The house is very spacious and has a lovely layout..few different area for chilling and sitting. The only thing is I would suggest..it would be great if the house can be cleaned at least once or twice a week during our 2 weeks stay also if we don’t have to change the covers for the beds ourselves at the end of our one week stay as we were on holiday.

Summary: Casa Almadraba was absolutely fantastic! The villa was even better than the the description & photos that were provided. Although we came in from the United States I have family that live in the South of Spain about 20 km from Roche. Everyone that came to visit could not stop talking about how wonderful the villa was, and proximity to the beach. We spent time going back and fourth between the beach and wonderful pool. We loved the outdoor space with the bbq, ping-pong table, outdoor eating and lounging space this has to be one of the best all time vacations we had. The inside of the villa was very, very clean, everything functioned as advertised including the Air Conditioning. I can't say enough good things about our stay at Casa Almadraba I am so bummed that the vacation is over we will be back and next time stay longer!

Summary: Wir hatten in dem Haus in Roche einen wunderschönen Familienurlaub mit 8 Personen. 3 Generationen haben sich von Anfang an dort wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet. In Wirklichkeit ist es sogar schöner als auf den Bildern. Es ist alles mehr als benötigt vorhanden. Andrew ist der perfekte Gastgeber, er war immer für uns erreichbar. Wir können das Haus nur empfehlen.

Summary: This was our sixth annual three-generation family get-together in Andrew's beautiful house in Roche and once again we had a wonderful week. The house has a great sense of space and peace and feels more like a home than a rental. Andrew is the perfect host, always ready to help. We will be back next year.

Summary: Our stay was perfect! Even though we fully booked the house with 10 people, we never felt cramped, there was plenty of nicely decoured space and so many really nice bathrooms. The house was in very good condition and the kitchen (we cooked nearly everyday for 10 people) really perfect. The garden and pool area though were outstandingly georgeous. The beach was close, beautiful and never even slightly crowded. Our hosts were very attentive and looked out for us on our stay. The only tiny disadvantage is that the wifi is not covering all rooms evenly well. We will visit again!

Summary: We holidayed as 3 families with young kids in May. The house was great with the pool area which can be closed off, lots of amazing garden space with sunshine and shade to play in and sprinklers on timer which the little ones loved! Andrew provided us with good travel cots and highchairs for the tiny ones. There are a various different seating areas around the garden so we were able to all be together or spread out as we wished if we were in the house. We also enjoyed using the outdoor BBQ a few times. There is a vast unspoilt beach just at the end of the road, which really is amazing to have close by, as well as a kids playpark a little walk away but we didn't really use this. We visited the nearby coves which are beautiful and more sheltered for windy days - under 5-10 mins drive away. Roche hasn't got many amenities, a pharmacy, cafe and restaurant but 2 supermarkets nearby and Sancti Petri and Barossa very close with more lovely beaches. We visited lots of local towns and beaches (Vejer, Conil, El Palamar). We took the kids horse riding at a nearby riding school. We were there for 10 days and in hindsight it would have been good to arrange a mid-stay housekeeping. All in all it was a peaceful place, great for a group and we all really enjoyed our stay.
