Positive: We couldn't of been more happy with our stay everything from the location, the farm house, the peace and tranquilly, but the main thing was the owners of the accommodation, simply put they could not do enough for us, everything from supplying a lovely breakfast each day, to logs for the log burner. Any information we needed on locations etc Domingo was our own personal tour guide (-: Oh did we mention the home main wine from Domingos wine cellar...... best we have ever had. We would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic Portugal holiday, no need to look any further than here.

Positive: The owner/host Domingos, really excels and make the guests feeling very welcome, and served. Whatever you request for breakfast he delivers at 08 AM at your door. Fresh eggs , fresh bread, milk butter, cheese, ham and marmalade etc, etc. For the wine lovers Dominigos makes some very nice wines which we where luckily be able to enjoy to the fullest (every day). The house is a beautiful schist house fully renovated. The location is very nice in between the hills and wine ranks and olive orchard with a nice private garden. Only a few minutes away from Figueiro dos Vinhos (with all necessary amenities and doctor and dentist). Pedrogao Grande about 13 minutes drive and Coimbra only 30 kilometers away. We highly recommend a stay at Casa de Retiro and not only for the property , environment but for sure also for the hospitality.
