Positive: Casa Mara is a beautiful and relaxing place. Facilities were great: we tanned by the swimming pool, had a delicious breakfast in the main area, enjoyed some music on the rooftop and slept well in our spacious room. Thanks for the great recommendations as well.

Positive: This hotel is a little oasis in the middle of the chaotic city of Dakar. Beautiful courtyard with swimming pool, sunbeds, relaxing sofas and chairs. Loved having breakfast here, just a few steps from my room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Don't miss the roof-top restaurant and bar serving very tasty food and beers.
Negative: No big deal for me, but the doors could do with better sound proofing.
Summary: Don't miss this little oasis!

Positive: There is something almost magical about Casa Mara. It attracts couples, families (without exception with delightful children), others...all nice people, we stayed for a week (instead of the 3 days booked). The pool, although small, is pleasant and popular. The breakfasts are a little repetitive but fresh and topped up just for the asking (many eat late here). The staff are helpful and work hard - some French or Spanish is really key here as in Dakar in general. I would agree that ground floor rooms are likely a little noisy around breakfast time but the first floor was cool and the room pretty near perfect. Meals in the restaurant we avoided but eating out was an adventure in itself...even with Yango/eSIM.
Negative: A bit of variety on the "hot" breakfast. A more international way to pay - perhaps through Remitly/similar. The daytime mosquitoes (remember spray)...but that's really not a hotel issue. Not much at all ;)
