Positive: A wonderful stay in a little oasis near the Alcantara Gorges. This family-run accommodation is peacefully immersed in a citrus orchard surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. The rooftop terrace and swimming pool provide stunning views and a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of Taormina, which remains within easy reach. It is an ideal base for visiting the north side of Mount Etna and its fabulous wineries, strolling through one of the most beautiful villages, such as Castiglione di Sicilia, or heading to the pistachio farms in Bronte. All the staff and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Positive: Great location for visiting Etna and Alcantara gorge. Lovely attentive staff and the food was amazing. Much of it produced locally

Negative: Beds a little hard for us. But clean and v acceptable

Positive: The location is excellent. Whilst it is near a main road, there is very little noise at night

Negative: We had booked the Suite Palmento and, whilst this was extremely spacious, our selection was, on reflection, a mistake. The bathroom is a long way from the double bed and, if one needs the facilities in the middle of the night, the 'journey' is quite arduous, negotiating some steps and having to duck under a VERY low beam that is part of an old wine press. I banged my head twice ! The double bed sags BADLY in the middle and the pillows need to be replaced. I decided to try and use the sofa bed but this is very short and still necessitates negotiating the wooden beam. Breakfast and dinner are good but the dining room is a rather ugly add-on that is not in keeping with the rest of the property.

Summary: Careful which room you select !

Negative: Very sweet breakfast, only one type of ham and cheese. The coffee machine is broken, so you have to ask for coffee one at a time.

Positive: Romano and Sabena are wonderful hosts. Great and friendly staff. Wonderful setting, close to the gorgeous and the adventure centre. Very refreshing and clean pool. Top class restaurant and chef, all locally sourced ingredients. Close to Taormina and Etna Very affordable
