Cascade is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home overlooking Lower Clam Lake and the West Fork of the Chippewa River. Enjoy a wonderful Northwood’s setting – the river “cascades” out of the lake at this location over an old logging era rock dam. Explore Lower Clam Lake’s fishing and recreational opportunities or the surrounding Chequamegon National Forest. The small community of Clam Lake is 3 miles away and offers a convenience store and gas station, dining, taverns, shopping and more.
The deluxe home was built in 1997 and features a Northwood’s décor and comfortable accommodations including 2 fireplaces (wood burning stove on the main floor and gas stove in the lower level family room), two levels of living space, 3 bedrooms including loft, two and one half baths, YouTube TV, WiFi Internet, and a family room with a wet bar, pool table and cozy fireplace. The large deck wraps around to a screened in porch, and landscaped steps lead down to the lakeside yard with a fire pit.
If you enjoy nature and want to experience a near-private lake, quiet and beautiful, this is it. Lower Clam is a 250 acre lake that is part of the Chippewa River system. The grounds lie where the Chippewa River flows from Lower Clam Lake and the river falls over a rapids and under a walking bridge. The river is home to a myriad of wildlife including: mink, otter, heron, muskrat, and eagle.
Some of the finest grouse and woodcock hunting in Wisconsin exists in the thousands of hunting acres around Cascade. Season opens in mid-September. The best grouse hunting is in October and November. Bow and gun hunting for deer is a fine wilderness experience in the Clam Lake area. The best time for a bow hunt is from mid-October to mid-November. The gun hunting season starts the Saturday before Thanksgiving and lasts for the next 9 days.
There is snowmobiling right to your cabin door and you can enjoy over 600 miles of groomed trails. The Area is home of the “Birkie” with 100s of kilometers of cross country trails groomed and marked within 20 miles.
Cascade – and the Clam Lake Area in general – is truly a four season getaway. Close to popular ATV and snowmobile trails, public hunting lands in the Chequamegon National Forest, beautiful fall colors, and great year round fishing, this home is the perfect destination for you and your family at any time of the year!

Summary: Everything looks very nice. The house is clean. The beds are comfortable. The setting is fantastic. The only downside was that the pool cues were all in rough shape. But we will probably rent the house again.

Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was nice, no towels was a disappointment, had to drive a half an hour to get bath towels the day after we arrived. Our email stated that if we were in certain cabins we would need to bring towels but I didn't consider this a cabin, it was a fine house.

Summary: Easy access to cabin , only a couple steps to get into making transferring luggage etc easy. Due to rainy/cold weather we didn't use the yard but had a nice firepit and dock in backyard with very short walk to lake. Beds were comfortable. Couches could use some updated cushions. We would definitely return.

Summary: We're avid outdoorsman and were visiting the area to grouse hunt and musky fish., both of which we were able to do near by. The accommodations were perfect for our family. It is a very cozy cabin with enough room to spread out. Looking forward to visiting again. Notes to future renters: This property is not on a legal ATV trail. If you're considering ATVing you would have to trailer your machines to a trail. Although it is on State Hwy 77, it is very pet friendly with a large yard. DO bring soap, yes even hand soap in bathrooms and kitchen are to be supplied by the renters. I would also suggest brining hand towels and trash bags. This may have been a fluke but no trash bags were provided. Still a positive experience and highly recommended.

Summary: One assumes so much that may or may not become reality. We were looking for a change of scene for a couple of nights and found this property fills that bill completely. We found the property spacious enough for the three of us and didn't run into any of those photos that show one thing that benefits the camera but is different in person. One thing we loved was the property is at the end of the lake that drains into a creek or start of a river so there is a small rapids, rocks, and such. We did have a power outage late afternoon prior to our departure morning lasting to the point that evening it was getting dark inside presenting a safety issue from our perspective. We decided to depart that evening while the power was out asking for and were told we'd receive a one-night refund. Since credit card credits take time and not wanting to delay my review I'll assume the best. I would recommend this property for the appearance and feel of solitude while having neighbors. Great dock with bench for sitting and observing. There is a walking bridge over the creek at the end of the lake that looks dicey but is safe and provides a great view. I would consider this property again.

Summary: The location is prime for Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival weekend. Loved the sound of the running water at the outlet of Lower Clam Lake. Wished I had brought my kayak and a fishing rod. Maybe next year. The cabin is nice, but a bit worn. Nothing that would stop me from renting again however. We really enjoyed our stay, and especially nice to be able to bring our two small dogs. Enjoyed the fire pit out by that lake, and the kitchen was great for our needs. Grill was in good shape, too.

Summary: We were in the area for a cycling race at Telemark. This cabin was a nice respite from the busy race area. We hung out by the lake, built a fire and grilled out. There was more than enough space for everyone to stretch out at night. As other renters have commented, there are a few cleanliness issues. While the outside does need a power washing… I feel it’s a cabin and that is not a big deal. However the dishwasher is falling apart and doesn’t clean the dishes well. There were many dirty kitchen items put away in the cabinets.
