Negative: The food at the Dan garden restaurant was cold and bland. The WiFi requires you to give away your phone number and email for spam. A five star resort can have proper WiFi.

Positive: Wow, what an incredible find! The hotel is essentially made up of 3 separate buildings. We had initially booked to stay in the Castle itself and had it been just the two of us, it would have been an amazing room to stay in but the sofa bed was located in a mezzanine floor and was a little unsuitable for our two young boys however the staff were amazing and offered us a different suite in the main hotel which was equally as impressive but this time all on one level and with a huge bath. Breakfast is incredible, pretty much everything you could hope for and more. They also have an amazing wine selection. Communication was great, they reached out to us as soon as we made the booking to confirm a few details and even gave us a great recommendation for somewhere to eat locally. We would have tried their restaurant but the timings didn’t quite work for our young ones. In the end we enjoyed it that much, we actually went back the following even to try some more of their dishes. My wife also pointed out how spotlessly clean the rooms were. Something we also seem to pick up on in other hotels. This place, as you might expect was immaculate. All in all, we were very pleased with our selection. It was worth every penny and definitely plan on returning.
Negative: The only slight issue, not even an issue really, but the one cause for confusion was over the parking. When booked through this app (booking.com), it offered us 2 prices. The more expensive option included parking, late check in and hi-speed internet. I was not fussed about the late check in or WiFi but we definitely needed the parking but as we found out, parking is actually free at the hotel but the advert definitely did not allude to that fact. Moreover there is an underground garage you can park in but it will cost extra and is not included in the fee you pay through the app. The staff were very accommodating and content with me using the garage on this occasion in light of the confusion but I do hope the listing is amended to inform others parking outside, on site is free.

Positive: The service was excellent—Mr. Orazio even picked us up on his way home when no taxi was available, which was incredibly kind of him. The room was beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable.
Negative: Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant for lunch, they were offering a temporary menu due to a children’s event at the nearby castle. While the food was good, the options were noticeably more limited and simpler than their usual offerings. It was a bit disappointing to have to follow that menu despite not being part of the event, and overall, the value for money didn’t quite match our expectations
