Located just two hours from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD, this 3 br-1ba cabin is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Almost Heaven West Virginia. One of the few properties at The Woods that backs directly to Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, this cabin was completely renovated in 2020.
Cedar Loft is fully furnished with antique furniture, sourced locally and painted by the owner, and special finds from the property. The cabin is the perfect combination of modern convenience and rustic charm surrounded by nature. This mountain getaway is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet or those with a penchant for outdoor adventure. It’s an ideal homebase for hiking, fishing, hunting, paddling, birdwatching, cycling, skiing/snowboarding, tubing or simply reconnecting with nature. The Woods is an 1800-acre-community situated at the northern gateway to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Its location allows for easy access to four states—West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, a nearly-23,000-acre tract of state land that includes an extensive trail network and opportunities is adjacent to The Woods, offering a wide variety of trees, plants and animals.
Cedar Loft sleeps 6 comfortably with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom features a queen size bed, the second bedroom has a full size bed and the third bedroom in the loft features a twin bed and twin trundle. Linens and towels, blankets, pillows, a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board are provided for guest use.
The cabin has a full kitchen, completely updated with granite countertops and new appliances. It has a Keurig, coffee maker, hand mixer, blender, toaster, can opener, pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, selection of coffee and tea, and basic kitchen spices. The living area has a smart TV with streaming capabilities, Xfinity cable, a DVD player, a large DVD movie selection and high speed internet/WiFi. There is no landline phone. Please check with your cell provider for service availability.

Summary: From the moment we walked into Cedar Loft we were blown away by the beautiful scenery out the back windows to the decor inside the cabin. The owner was always readily available and responded promptly to any questions that we had. We felt the coziness of the cabin immediately from the snacks to the homemade cookies awaiting us. We will definitely be staying at Cedar Loft again in the future. Thank you for sharing this beautiful cabin with us.

Summary: The house was clean, comfortable and cozy for our family of four, including two small children. The pools and surroundings are beautiful and our kids really enjoyed evening fires in the fire pit. The house also has a small playroom with toys that really came in handy on lazy afternoons. The manager was great with communications and even setup a very nice welcome basket.

Summary: This was my second time staying here for a mother-daughter getaway. The cabin is beautiful and decorated so exquisitely. We enjoyed watching the deer in the woods through the screened-in porch. The cabin was very clean. Lisa is an excellent host and communicates immediately answers to questions you may have. Upon check-in, she has the lights on, music playing, and freshly baked cookies on the counter. It was a wonderfully relaxing stay. Thank you, Lisa!

Summary: A lovely property perfect for a quick getaway from DC. The property is well-appointed with everything you will need from meal prep, linens and bedding. Lisa is a delightful hostess. The Christmas decorations were very much appreciated and helped make the Cedar Loft our 2023 holiday home away from home.

Summary: The Cedar Loft cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was cozy and felt like your home-away-from-home. The small touches really made such a huge difference, including comfortable beds/pillows/couches/chairs, snacks upon arrival, coffee and tea, plenty of towels, extra toiletries, games, guides on what to do in The Woods and nearby - really set this apart from other rentals! We enjoyed a fire out back each night under clear skies and a peaceful backyard. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We can't wait to return!

Summary: First time in West Virginia and it was a very pleasant stay. We spent a bit over a week in the Cedar Loft and it we had a good time: pools, fire pit, even got a chance to attend a concert in the park at the community. Lisa, the host, was very easy to get in touch with if needed and she made the entire process as seamless as possible. Thanks again for hosting our family!
