Our cottage home is located in a peaceful yet central location. The proximity to Sperr Memorial Park and the Big Flats Trail is a highlight for runners, nature enthusiasts, and families alike. The original farmhouse structure, built in 1898, was once home to the Kahler family whose farmlands spanned much of the surrounding river valley. Beautifully restored, the 1.5 acre property is surrounded by nature and features a substantial back deck perfect for enjoying that morning cup of coffee with the birds chirping or relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine at sunset.
The first floor features a 3-season den overlooking the back deck, modern farmhouse kitchen with eat-in breakfast nook, formal dining room, and a living room perfectly appointed for family games by the fireplace. Also on the first floor is a downstairs master bedroom with a queen bed and full bathroom.
The second floor includes: primary master suite with en-suite bathroom, laundry area, and walk-in closets, two queen bedrooms, bunk room, and the home’s third full bathroom.
Popular local attractions including Corning Museum of Glass, Historic Market Street, Rockwell Museum, Harris Hill, all within an easy 10 minute drive. Close to hospitals, airport, and shopping centers. Easy access to local wineries/breweries, lakes, Watkins Glen, gorges, Ithaca, Cornell University all within 30-45 minutes.

Summary: Great place for a girlfriend get away. Decorated perfectly with a bit of old and new charm. Kitchen had everything you need. Comfortable living room for the six of us to gather in. Close to Corning. Short but nice walking path right up the road.

Summary: The 7 of us, all adults, stayed for most of 1 week. The house is large, and the outdoor space is even larger! It was fun to eat dinner on the deck, soak in the hot tub, build a fire for toasting marshmallows, or go for a long walk in the park right next door. The owner, Rachael, was very responsive to our needs. It was a great homebase for our Finger Lakes family vacation!

Summary: Was a wonderful property. Very quiet and peaceful with lots of space both inside and out. Walking distance from a playground and pond for fishing was perfect for the kids. Very close driving distance to a lot of activities as well. Rachael was very responsive and helpful with all of our needs/questions prior to and during our stay.

Summary: Very clean, spacious farmhouse with quiet setting and large yard. Great for our two dogs to run around. Plenty of room for multiple people, although it was just the two of us. Added plus with the park next to the property. Right off the highway which offers quick access to all areas, but still very quiet location on a dead end road.

Summary: Great location! Walked to Sperr Park for the kids, nice nature area. Quiet but close to amenities when needed. The house has very much character! Nicely updated but it is 100+years old. Manager was quick to respond when needed.

Summary: The Corning Museum of Glass (15 minutes drive) has come a long way since I saw it last in the 1980s. Great demos! The walking trail beginning right at the house was lovely, and the unseasonable snow (late April!) was pleasant while soaking in the hot tub.

Summary: We were very fortunate to find such an amazing place to stay at. It worked out wonderful, and my entire team was able to be comfortable while working out of town for four days. Rachel was amazing and a very attentive host. When we are in the area again for work related things, I will definitely check to see if this home is available first.
