Positive: Hotel and facilities while a little tired were in immaculate order. It's definitely a relic from the Bubble of the 80s and 90s. byThe public bath on the second floor was a welcome surprise. There are numerous restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. The Japanese room we stayed in had a comfortable sitting room separate from the elegant nine mat tatami room. Bed linen fresh and crisp.
Negative: The futons were quite thin. I'm fairly used to futon on tatami but this felt pretty much like sleeping on the floor. The property itself is a bit of a hike from Tokushima central and not really near anything. We resorted to taxis to get to an from the station for efficiency.
Summary: The Bubble hotel.

Positive: Rooms were refurbished, looks new and clean. The staff were also very attentive and responds to customer needs in time, and even remembers customer’s requests and brings it in front of customers at check in which is pretty impressive
Negative: The parking lot should have been free. Charging 800 a night at that location does not make sense. Other public areas such as the corridors, the staircase and the onset itself looks pretty aged. It’s dark at times and you can see rust on the walls

Positive: Good hotel for low budget staying, nice public bath, location is a bit far from main Tokushima station. Near a lot of restaurants and great family owned yakiniku place. Hotel is old and definitely need renovation, but still conditions are good for 1-2 nights stay. Staff is great.

Positive: Everything was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. My view of the sunset from the 9th floor was breathtaking.
Negative: Nothing. I loved it.

Positive: The property is a little bit tired, but very comfortable. Nice beds.
Negative: It advertises a fitness club including a swimming pool, but please note you have to pay quite a lot extra to use it.

Positive: The staff were very kind and even let me into my room early, despite showing up a couple hours before check-in. Although the shower was a little dated, the room itself was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. And while I did hear the light jazz music that was mentioned in several reviews, it wasn't so loud as to be disruptive. It's also in an excellent location! The room, on its face, is a good value for the money.
Negative: There was no way to actually control the temperature in the room, aside from a panel on the night stand that had a "low / medium / high" setting. The heater is pre-set to a certain temperature. Before going to bed, I put the setting on low because I suspected it would be much hotter than I'm used to -- and it was. I woke up at 4AM because I was sweating so much. I went to open the windows to try and air out the room, but the windows were sealed and locked. There was a sign that said they're not designed to be opened at all. While the room eventually cooled down after turning off the heater, I was never able to get back to sleep because by the time it got back to a comfortable temperature, I had to get ready to leave. On this basis alone, I'm unlikely to book here again.
Summary: Good value for the money, if you're not particular about room temperature.
