Positive: The location was perfect for exploring the Dordogne. The hosts are lovely and gracious. The property is a converted tower, so unique and interesting and has all the equipment needed for comfortable self-catering. We liked the BBQ and the swimming pool.

Negative: Overall this was a good experience. We had a lovely time. However there were a few things that were not ideal: Proximity to busy road. It was quite noisy when sitting out on the patio or by the pool. There was a smell of sewage sometimes when sitting on the patio, possibly from a septic tank near the patio? There was a cleaning charge €75 added on that wasn’t mentioned on Booking.com. It was hot weather and although fans were provided, the bedrooms were very hot at night.

Positive: Very high quality finish to the renovated chateau. Owners very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Went out their way to speak English due to our poor French. Recommended local places to visit which were very good.

Negative: Unfortunately the pool wasn’t operational due to a pump breaking down. However there is plenty to do in the Dordogne.
