Positive: This family-run bed and breakfast is my favorite place to stay in France. The chateau was built in 1566 and renovated in the early 1800s when the de Pommereau family purchased it. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated and filled with family treasures collected over the past 200 years. This was our fourth visit, this time with our adult children and toddler grandchildren. Ann-Charlotte was very welcoming and helpful with the children. While parts of the chateau are showing their age, it was very special to stay here and learn about the modern-day challenges of preserving such a historic building. We are looking forward to returning.

Positive: Beautiful Chateau surrounded by wonderful countryside . Madame and the lady who provided breakfast were charming and helpful.
Negative: The Breakfast was a little tired. In anideal world there would be a swimming pool.

Positive: Spectacular, if tumbledown, chateau with original features. Crisp white clean cotton sheets.
Negative: Sense of abandonment, swimming pool is a plastic stand alone one which was half full and full of green algae.
Summary: Nice stop off, no real pool.

Positive: The history and grandness of the Chateau, made the stay a real "experience". So many hotels don't make memories, we will never forget the night spent in the haunted castle. The breakfast was great and taken in the grand dining room and our host Carol was very pleasant and happy to muddle through with our lack of French.
Negative: As long as you understand that this is a once grand house, frequented by royalty of the period Marie Antoinette, which is now considerably dilapidated, then it becomes and adventure experience and memorable. If you are looking for wifi, TVs and in room facilities then go to a Holiday Inn. It's clean, great showers and no heateing, but as said it drips with its former glory.

Positive: Delightful setting, it was truly like stepping back in time which we found charming. The views from our room were stunning. This chateau has been in the family for over 200 years and they are making a difficult job look easy to maintain this extensive chateau. Our hostess Anne could not have been more welcoming and friendly who went out of her way to show us the original kitchens and utility rooms in the basements. Absolutely fascinating and we very much appreciated her time, warmth and the enthusiasm to keep the chateau going.
