Positive: Incredible stay with beautiful views. The staff was very kind and accepting. Lea from the winery was exceptionally knowledgeable and accommodating. We hope to see her again!
Negative: The WiFi could have been better for some business we needed to attend to and having a bit of food on site during the afternoon would have made the stay superb.

Positive: The property is beautiful and well located. The room was comfortable, big bathroom, nice bed.
Negative: Unfortunately, while the property itself is beautiful, they have very minimal service. The first night we stayed there, we were the only guests. So apparently the receptionists left early, we had to get the key ourselves, and realized we were absolutely alone in the whole property. That may have been okay except the wifi didn't work and we couldn't reach anyone with any questions. We couldn't figure out the heaters, but also couldn't ask anyone about it. Or, we texted the person who had texted us, but because of the bad internet, it never reached them. The next morning, there was hardly any breakfast - old, stale croissants, and a fruit salad that looked like it had been sitting in the fridge with an enormous hair on top. The next evening, there were more guests at the hotel, but again, no service whatsoever. No way to reach anyone. When asking about the weak/nonexistent wifi the next day, the response was that it was due to the "weather," which is ridiculous. If you have the means to keep the chateau so beautiful, surely you have means in 2025 for a working wifi connection, especially if you intend to leave your guests alone at the property. So, while the room and property are nice, don't expect 5 star service - expect nothing.
Summary: Beautiful property, Nonexistent service, Nonexistent Wifi, Cheap breakfast.

Positive: Gigognan is a fantastic location. The excellently renovated room (with underfloor heating (we stayed here in December), bathtub, double sink etc) in this presumably 19th century building was excellent. Also the breakfast tres bien. The billiard room a superb asset.
Negative: Really nothing at all

Positive: A grand old building with lots of character and a very comfortable and spacious room and en suite bathroom. We enjoyed a really interesting tour of the wine making facilities with the lovely Claude and a very enjoyable wine tasting on site.
Negative: It wasn’t possible to dine there in the evening which I hadn’t realised until we arrived. As we had both done the wine tasting we ideally didn’t want to drive anywhere in the evening. As it was Monday many of the local restaurants were closed. So a little disappointing in that respect. Also breakfast was served yourself….the coffee machine broke on us, it needed to be filled with water, which we couldn’t do ourselves but there was no one around to ask so we had to go without coffee.
Summary: Very pleasant place to stay, just a shame they don’t cater for guests in the evenings.

Positive: We did like the property but we were expecting a little more comfort and attention to detail. The heated pool was super cold. The lady in the reception said it was heated but it wasn’t. Also the breakfast was so plain and poor in terms of quality. 3* breakfast. Then there was no atmosphere outside. It’s nice but it seamed empty and abandoned. I think for a full rent it’s fine but for a stay it lacks something we were expecting. Maybe it was only my expectations. But the room was simply beautiful and cozy and the chateau is beautiful and well maintained.
