West Central Saskatchewan Other | Character farmhouse set in beautiful countryside

4 Bedroom Place in West Central Saskatchewan, Hepburn

This picturesque farmhouse is a residence graced by an awe-inspiring view of the North Saskatchewan river, breathtaking ravine and the surrounding countryside. This 112-year-old homestead has been refinished and filled with vintage touches as a tribute to the nostalgia and comfort that “Grandma’s House” can bring. Enjoy the land with wildlife watching and hiking to the river, fishing and canoeing. Cozy up to the fire pit and listen to the snap crackle into the night or fill the house with laughter as you play board games together. Also a cozy cabin with a real wood fire. There is an event space that is available for Rustic small weddings or family gatherings etc. at an additional charge depending on the event. Have a look at a short film made there. Summary: We have stayed here several times now. It's a much anticipated get-away for us. Once again, a great stay in a beautiful location. Always enjoy the wildlife as well. This time many deer and three moose. Nice hikes along and into the river valley too. There are many different spaces to explore on the property and enjoy. We'll be back.

Summary: We were 2 family groups from out of province and had other family members come out for dinner. TLDR: No hesitation to recommend for a group if the area works for you! The house itself and the host were very hospitable, the weather less so with a cold snap limiting outdoor activities. Bedrooms range from B and B antiquey style to utilitarian but all had very comfortable beds and linens. Living space was charmingly decorated for the holidays, and the kitchen was very practically equipped and highly functional for making real meals with enough plates - cutlery for a group. There are many other buildings on the property that we peeked into during our brief -26 degree forays out that look like they’d be fun for larger parties in better weather. Saw deer, a snowy owl, an eagle, and grouse on the way into Saskatoon (which 40 min drive including 20 km on grid road that took 20 min). Fantastic sunsets and views.Note - the cost is higher than it initially appears when searching the site because the host fees actually exceeded the nightly cost by a good margin, but overall still good value for the experience.

Summary: I rented grandma's house and the granary for one night to hold my annual Halloween murder mystery dinner party. It was the perfect setting for our apres ski theme. I was able to arrive early to setup and had the least stressful pre-party day ever! The granary easily fit my 35 friends for the cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and dance party that followed! We had plenty of room to store and heat up food between the kitchen in the house and the extra fridge in the granary. Jarvis is a wonderful host and very accommodating, a very special guy. Let me mess with the breakers in the granary for my 'murder" and let me tour the property multiple times to ensure everything was in order for the event. Everyone who wanted to stay the night at the venue was able to thanks to the ample room in the house!! Every space is lovingly restored and Jarvis has an amazing eye for design with beautiful antiques and quirky vintage pieces everywhere. After 7 years of this party in every space imaginable, I may permanently use this venue as it was everything we needed.

Summary: Jarvis has a beautiful property. We hosted our first annual Trail Ride and the property was above and beyond our expectations. We had approx 30 riders each day. They pulled in Friday night with their rigs and had ample parking to camp over night. Jarvis had a big water tub and 4 pens available for our horses. His Cowboy Campfire area was the perfect blend of rustic & comfortable. We had a lovely potluck supper Saturday night. Jarvis neighbors came and made us home made doughnut and rolkucken. The trail we rode during the day offered a spectacular view of the river valley. Jarvis had even cleared trails down to the river for the more adventurous riders. Mother Nature blessed us with beautiful weather and the sky was painted with breathtaking North Lights both nights. This facility would be perfect for those that want to bring quads or ATVs or snowmobiles in the winter. The house is charming and comfortable. I would highly recommend this to property to anyone.
