Summary: Alexandra was incredibly helpful from the moment I booked with her and from beyond the time that we left. Her hospitality was outstanding and she was so helpful and took the time to tell us how to best navigate Scotland. Because of her, every aspect of our trip went smoothly. The property is adorable and as described in the pictures. I couldn’t recommend her place enough!

Summary: Alexandra’s little cottage was so wonderful and the town of Dunfermline was so cute and quaint. The place was extremely clean and had everything my fiancé and I needed. Both her and Robin made the check in process very easy and were extremely responsive to any questions we had. Definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing getaway! Hopefully we’ll be back soon too 🐑

Summary: I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property, and would definitely recommend this! The host was very accessible and helpful, and gave good advice for nice restaurants nearby. The home was so comfortable and tidy, with a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom. The picturesque area is convenient to the Edinburgh airport as well as having other interesting attractions such as Blackness Castle and Dunfermline a short drive away. Above all, it was peaceful and charming, being in such an historic setting.

Summary: This was a gorgeous little cottage in a perfect setting, we really enjoyed our stay here and Alexandra looked after us. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again

Summary: My husband and I planned this trip over a year ago, but had to find alternative lodgings when our rental fell through. I was thrilled to find the Charlestown Cottage — a beautiful residence steeped in history. The pictures on site don’t do it justice; it’s just fabulous and the bed is perfection. The best part was our host, Alexandra. Our flights were delayed, our car rental was canceled, but she met us at the house at 11:30 pm to get us settled. She even made sure we had tea and toast for breakfast! The house has everything one wants for a calm, quiet getaway including a laundry which we desperately needed since our luggage was lost for 3 days! To round out our stay we came down with Covid, and Alexandra repeatedly came to our rescue with advice, medicine, and even tried to find other lodging for us when being sick meant we had to cancel our trip to Ireland. We can honestly say that our time at the cottage was the best part of our first week in Scotland. We highly recommend both the location and especially the host — she goes above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming space you want to call home. You’ll love it here!

Summary: This is a well kept, clean, warm and quiet location that proved ideal for us - within easy driving reach of Edinburgh, Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and Dunfermline. We were met by the host by pre-arranged text message, who ran through the usual stuff and welcomed us. We had a couple of queries about some local services we needed, and although she told us at the time, they were backed up by links in a text message - so helpful. It was nice to get a note after we had left, that we had left the cottage in a great shape, which was a nice re-assurance - I guess some previous people hadn't. Could not fault a thing!
