Bright and spacious apartment with garden access in the heart of the charming Mile Ex neighbourhood, Casa Jardin is a beautiful and calm apartment located just a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of the hustle and bustle of Little Italy, Jean Talon Market, and Jarry Park.
With garden access, this place has a vibrant yet peaceful vibe that is ideal for single travellers and couples. Your apartment is located in “the most interesting area in town” according to Vogue Magazine, across from the iconic Dépanneur Le Pick Up, where locals and tourists alike travel to for its tasty bites, laid back atmosphere and eclectic social scene.
LIVING ROOM: Access the apartment directly from the quiet street where you will enter a spacious living room with lots of natural light and plants. The room is equipped with a vintage mid-century couch set and coffee table, dimmable light sources, vintage Persian carpet, and a library of literature. The dining table with 2 chairs can double as an adequate work station.
Other amenities include high-speed internet, games, a sound system with wireless connection, as well as a record player with a vinyl collection.
KITCHEN: The kitchen overlooks the garden and is well-equipped with stainless steel fridge, stove, dishwasher, manual coffee makers (french press, pour over), and an electric kettle. Complimentary tea and locally roasted coffee are provided. You’ll also find everything you need to cook most meals on the stove or in the oven, including pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, oils, vinegar and spices.
BATHROOM: Cosy and clean bathroom. Equipped with a combined bath and shower with local and organic complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body soap. There is closed and open storage for your toiletries, etc. Bathroom linens (face, hand and bath towels) and toilet paper are provided, as is a hair dryer.
LAUNDRY CLOSET: Guests have access to the laundry closet which includes a washing and drying machine, complimentary detergent, iron, broom, Dyson vacuum, and cleaning supplies.
BEDROOM: The bright and calm bedroom has a door that opens to the backyard, allowing you to wake up to the sound of chirping birds and peaceful murmurs of the post-industrial nature-infused Mile Ex life. This room has a dimmable light source, 2 windows that open for fresh air, closet with hangers and shelves, vintage dresser, and a mirror. There is a super comfortable ENDY queen mattress (the #1 mattress recommended by the Canadian Chiropractic Association) with fresh cotton linens, and both memory foam and feather pillow options.
BACKYARD: Private acacia wood patio equipped with chairs, table and hammock in a peaceful garden (landscaping in progress). There are dimmable string lights for the evening. Please note that the other half of the yard, beyond the installed bamboo divider, belongs to the adjacent neighbor.
*Spring/Summer 2025 - There is a construction project happening behind the unit, which may cause some sound disturbance on some mornings + afternoons during the week.
AIR CONDITIONING: The apartment remains very cool in temperature as it’s on the main floor right off the garden. We have fans installed in each main room and these seem to be sufficient for most summer days and evenings and most of our guests have found that air conditioning is not needed. With that said, we will have an air conditioner unit available from June 15-September 15th.
TRANSPORT: The apartment is located within walking distance to many transportation options. There are also several Bixi rental stands nearby where you can rent a bike, as well as many bike lanes and paths.
Metro: 8 minute walk to the blue metro line (Castelnau and Parc Stations), 14 min walk to the orange metro line (Jean Talon Station)
Bus: Short walks to the 55 St Laurent (4 minutes) and 80 Parc (8 minutes).

*Sit under willow trees by the pond at Jarry Parc, our neighborhood green oasis, where you can also find a free outdoor public pool and various sporting facilities and fields.
*Go for a walk through Little Italy’s unpredictable and fun streets, traditional Italian cafes, boutiques, bakeries, specialty grocery stores and many restaurants.

Summary: Very clean ground floor apartment in quiet neighbourhood. We were visiting our son and disappointed that there were only two dining chairs. Understand completely not wanting to encourage large gatherings however it was difficult to enjoy the full kitchen when we couldn't sit at the dining table with him. The general location map also seemed inaccurate when we booked (other side of Saint Laurent) but that seems to have been corrected. Overall, we would recommend this apartment though.

Summary: The apartment was spotless, the communication excellent and the entry instructions clear. it was likely a good value. But the apartment is modest (small, minimal furnishings, no TV or microwave), and the neighborhood was without charm. We did not realize how far it was from the sites we were interested in seeing--our bad.

Summary: We had a great time checking out the many neighborhoods and districts of Montreal. The apartment is well located for access to bus, subway and rental bikes. Fabulous meals in Little Italy’s restaurants and the Jean Talon Market is a short walk away.

Summary: We loved the property! Cool in the middle of a heat wave, outdoor space, clean and spacious… it was perfect. There are lots of shops around ( including a dépanneur less than a minute away) and Little Italy within minutes… A foodie’s dream! Strongly recommended, we’re hoping to be back soon…

Summary: Over the years I have stayed in many short-term rentals and hotels in various Montreal neighbourhoods, and this is without a doubt my favourite. The space is very peaceful with a sweet back garden, and the location is perfect for exploring Mile Ex and adjacent areas. Ashley and Navid went out of their way to ensure my comfort and enjoyment. Summary: This is not a huge apartment but it is thoughtfully laid out and in perfect working order. I came here with a stiff neck that had been bothering me for weeks, but the terrific bed and pillows here somehow cured it! The place is spotless, with numerous thoughtful touches, particularly a large bag of wonderful ground coffee. I do believe this neighborhood is one of the nicest in all the world --and one of the most delicious, too! The hosts were lightning fast in answering a couple of my questions, and when I return to Montreal I hope their jewel of an apartment is available.

Summary: We had a very relaxing stay in this clean, ground-level, light-filled Mile-Ex apartment. The hosts were easy to reach, quick to respond, and communicated clearly. The neighborhood is fun to explore and wonderfully quiet at night. Walk to the Jean Talon Market and nearby grocery shops if you’d prefer to cook at home. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a great meal. We also enjoyed some wonderful Indian food delivered from Harry’s Curry Corner. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Montreal.
