Summary: The property is part of Le Manoir de Bertinghen and is located in the Pas de Calais, close to Marquise and only 10 minutes from the A16. We only used the main bedroom that was very comfortable, as was the lounge. It is located close to a horse riding school that can be busy at times but mostly not. The owner is French speaking and very helpful. It is very pleasant and relaxing but close to the Intermarché in Marquise where there is also a vet where English is spoken if you need to take your dig for tapeworm treatment before returning to the UK. If you have a dog, there is a lovely walk around the fortified area in Boulogne and also a beach in Wissant where you can walk your dog at any time. We found that many of the seaside towns/villages don't allow dogs on the promenades which makes it awkward to walk dogs. Tardinghen has a beach where you can walk your dog after 19.00. We walked our dog there often.

Summary: Friendly, helpful host, great location and somewhere we’d go back to and recommend. The Gite was well equipped and was in a good location for us without own vehicle. Our child loved the trampoline and feeding the chickens especially. Helpful notes about markets etc around the property. Beaches and villages nearby with lots of do and we had a visit to the aquarium. A great stay!

Summary: Le Manoir, Bazinghen Situated just 16kms from the exit of the EURO- TUNNEL in CALAIS, , Bazinghen is a jewel in the midst of the Parc Naturel. Here we quickly settled in to country life among horses, sheep, chickens & the occasional rabbit. The cottage itself had every thing we needed for an enjoyable stay, from the large log burner in the spacious sitting room with a dining area & a well appointed kitchen. Wooden steps lead to the first floor where there was a bathroom & separate toilet. These sat next to a beautiful bedroom, whose dual aspect windows & sills revealed gorgeous geranium filled window boxes. The second floor with it's two comfortable single beds, was reached by another set of wooden stairs, On sunny days we breakfasted on the front terrace and in the evening ate dinner or barbecued on the rear terrace. Marie- Therèse was a delightful host whose energetic & warm welcome assured us of a very comfortable & happy stay. This was a perfect situation for the four of us (especially considering the Covid restrictions) & close enough to the railway station at Frehun where we collected our daughter & her partner from the Paris train. There are walks, beaches, restaurants and shops all situated within around a 10 minute drive away and the walk from the cottage affords wonderful views of the surrounding villages & countryside I do hope we will have the opportunity to stay here again.

Summary: We had a nice week in this beatiful gite in a very calm hamlet . Everything you need is available, from a washing machine to a hand mixer in the kitchen. Our children had a great time on the trampoline and feeding the chickens. There is another gite nextdoor. One thing that was less comfortable for us was that the bedrooms are on the first and second floor and the toilet is also on the first floor, the stairs and floors are cracking a bit which caused that we woke up each other when visiting the toilet during the night.

Summary: A very well equipped gite which had even more than we expected with everything you would need. This place is ideal for a relaxing holiday very clean and comfy beds. The owner is on site to help if needed and even delivered us an enormous barrowload of wood for the log fire. Would recommend. merci madame d'avoir rendu notre séjour si relaxant

Summary: We warmly recommend this place. Apart from being thoroughly charming, the house was very well equipped and very clean. We travelled with small kids and - as us adults - they absolutely loved the place. They loved the house, had games to play with and loved the trampoline outside, and to feed the hens. The landlady was absolutely wonderful (living on site).
