Cottage c 1940s on the water offers a relaxing getaway. The cottage is situated on 3.5 acres of grass, woodlands and gardens for you to explore.
The dock is 75 ft long, has a ladder, shore is sandy, water depth at the end of the dock is 4 to 5 ft deep & the water is swimmable. We provide bikes, 2 kayaks, 2 crab pots & tubes & a few fishing poles.
The enclosed front porch provides views of the Potomac River opening to the Chesapeake Bay. You'll love the slate back patio with seating & a gas grill. This is a nature lover’s paradise, wildlife habitat and Monarch Butterfly waystation; Audubon naturalist retreat. The cottage is sparkling clean.
No cable TV. There is a firestick.
You'll have access to a full kitchen, living room with stone fireplace, cathedral ceiling & loft, enclosed front porch with wide river views! There is ceiling fans and air conditioning throughout.
The front lot has a waterside deck with seating and pier for relaxing to watch sunrises & sunsets.

Summary: We enjoyed 3 blissful days here with our family celebrating our anniversary. Others have said it, and it’s true: the descriptions and pictures do not do justice to this lovely place. Gorgeous views over the water, wonderful places to walk, seclusion, and the cottage itself is just so charming, with lots of individual items of interest, antiques and history. The kind of place that makes you feel like you’re stepping into the life of the Northern Neck.

Summary: So much could be said about how great and nice the place is. The owners Claudia and Henry were in the back house and helpful if and when needed. We enjoyed their help if needed and recommendations. For us grandparents and our 13 And 24 year old grandchildren and one parent this was appropriate space. You do have a very short walk to gazebo and dock area which accommodates most relaxing as well as water activities. We actually caught and cooked over dozen crabs! The house is very nicely done inside and outside but the front living space/porch was where we spent a lot of our indoor time which did have a direct unobstructed view of water. Caught great sunrises in the morning. Looking forward to doing this again but it does only accommodate 6 and our family can be larger than that. Lots of items provided as stated in amenities.

Summary: The week we spent was an absolute joy! The home is much nicer than the photos and the setting is magnificent. The owners Henry & Claudia were at the cottage behind us for the week and could not have been nicer folks. They have thought of every detail to make our stay enjoyable. Each day they would walk up to the waterfront deck and put up a nice canopy for us to use overlooking the water . We can’t thank them enough for their gracious hospitality and hope we can get back next year!!

Summary: This is our 2nd time at this property. Very warm and cozy place, and the location is great. Me and my friends enjoyed fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Also the communication with the property manager is great in case you have any questions. We’ll definitely be back again!

Summary: Had a fantastic long weekend stay. Unbeatable views of the Potomac and Chesapeake from the relaxing Adirondack chairs. Incredibly well-decorated and tons of nature to enjoy. Outstanding! Perfect getaway.

Summary: We had a great relaxing stay at the home. The home was as advertised and was very nice & clean. The landscaping was beautiful and the dock and bay view were very nice. We had a great stay during the week. Though our rating is 5 stars I would like to suggest the one bedroom ( adult room ) have a larger bed. It was a tight squeeze for the two adults to sleep together and we are not that big. This is the only set back that would keep us from renting this same place again next year. Overall great experience and great place to stay, very peaceful enviroment!

Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Very clean, loved the decor and all the rooms. We enjoyed coffee and dinner on the front porch. While most of our time was spent outdoors, we watched some TV in the gorgeous fireplace room and played cards on the back porch off the kitchen. For a family of 4 with adult children, everyone had their space. Access to kayaks, paddle board and bikes were a big plus. Fished and crabbed off the dock. (The fish and the crabs were well-fed thanks to us.) Enjoyed the sunrises and the sunsets. Owners were on site; lovely folks and very helpful. Especially notable were the river birds...eagles (!), ospreys and other varieties putting on a daily show. Loved the eagles soaring right over the top of the trees in the morning and then again at dusk. Could watch them fish on the river and return to two different nests on shore. On our last night, we were treated to quite the dragon fly show. Have never seen anything like that...it was spectacular. Thanks for a great stay!

Summary: All the beds were too high and difficult to get in. Beds were very uncomfortable There was no vacumn or mop to clean. Originally it said a washer dryer but not there however the owners were there and offered the use of there washer/dryer The water was overdone with softener making it feel slippery on your skin
