Les Chalets d’Aile-Laine’s le Petit Prince cottage is a cozy 1450sqf farmhouse design nestled in the heart of a 165 acre private estate. Situated in the beautiful Petite Nation and just a stone’s throw from the famous Papineau-Labelle provincial reserve, nature lovers and active families will be delighted. The estate provides many hiking and mountain bike trails, access to a private lake with kayaks, paddle-boards and canoes and even features a full gym and pool table for your enjoyment.

Le Petit Prince is a charming Farm House design with a first floor open concept for a great cozy, family atmosphere. The bedrooms are on the second floor and each feature a comfy queen size bed. It also features a 4 season entry porch with sliding and screened windows to enjoy the sites, without the bugs, in the summer or to let wet winter clothes dry in the winter.
Note that this cottage does not include a dish washer.
A detached garage was converted into a gym and pool hall for our guests to use and enjoy, free of charge. This space is shared with guests of our other cottage, le Saint-Ex.
We live on the estate but make ourselves very discret. We are there to provide immediate assistance if needed and for the property upkeep.
We provide the following sporting goods/activities to our guest, free of charge:
2 sit-on-top kayaks per cottage.
2 paddle-boards per cottage.
1 paddle boat (shared).
1 canoe (shared).
1 fishing/cruising aluminum boat with electric motor.
Life jackets (including for kids and very young children).
Access to our brand new dock (May 21st 2022) with each cottage having it’s own 10’x16’ swimming platform.
Full free weight gym with elliptical machine.
Pool table.
10 pairs of snowshoes with poles (including 2 pairs for kids and 2 pairs for young children).
Hiking/Mountain biking trails.
Snowmobile and ATV enthusiasts will be delighted to know that the federated trails are only 5 minutes from the property and that the municipality allows riders to get to and from trails on public roads, so no trailering required! We also offer indoor sled/ATV parking in our barn.

Summary: Such a lovely property, the lake is pristine and André provides all the equipment needed to get out on the water. The woodland trails are easy to navigate- (do bring your bug-spray), I even found chanterelles growing there! Le Petit Prince is a sweet little cottage with two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs, it comes equipped with everything you could want and lots of thoughtful touches.

Summary: This delightful, well-provisioned, immaculate property is one of a handful of properties on a tiny, motor-free lake. The variety of complimentary coffee and teas were a nice surprise! We made use of the paddleboards, the pedal boat, the kayaks, and the fatbikes, and wandered along one or two of the hiking trails Marc has created up into the hills. We were delighted to encounter a family of loons on an early-morning, misty paddle around the lake! There was also a building with a weight room and pool table. If we'd stayed longer, or had a rainy day during our stay, I'm sure we'd have enjoyed using that, too! The reason we gave it only 4 stars for location is simply because the last 20 or so minutes of the trip was on dirt roads, and the nearest grocery store was about 20 minutes away. (Marking us as spoiled city people, I know!) Marc is a good host, giving a personal tour of the facilities upon arrival, even offering to pick things up for us when he drove to Gatineau during a day of our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to friends!

Summary: Ce chalet charmant est parfait pour un groupe de 2-5 personnes. Nous étions 3 femmes pour ceci, notre premiere visite. 'Le Petit Prince' is a gem of a venue, extremely well equipped, with care, thought, and love. We had so many amenities at our disposal that we only took advantage of a few, only being there for 2 nights and one full day. Nous suggérons fortement de rester là pour 3-4 jours ou une semaine. There are fat bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, a pedalboat, a dock for excellent swimming, TWO outdoor seating areas each with a firepit, zero-gravity chairs, an indoor wood-burning stove, a soaker bathtub, industrial-sized washer and dryer, internet, Smart TV, Netflix and other channels, air-conditioning, several well-maintained trails of different difficulties, and all of the furniture was comfortable. We even had an extra dining table where we were able to do a puzzle we'd brought. L’hôte était chaleureusement accueillant et nous a aidé avec tout ce dont nous avions besoin, et a même offert des suggestions d’endroits à visiter dans la région qui étaient excéllent. We will definitely be back and bring more of our family!

Summary: Andre is a fabulous host and his property is exactly as shown. Cozy and warm house, lots of beautiful trails to explore (snowshoes included) fabulous views and wildlife (5 deer at the feeder one morning!). We will definitely go again.

Summary: What got me to book this cottage was the water sports available. Not only did it have great views of nature with kayaks, pedalo, row boat and paddle boards but the barn cottage was beautiful! Super clean and comfortable and everything was thought of. We honestly didn’t need anything else! Just bring food, clothes and beach towels and get ready for enjoyment. André the host and his wife obviously put a lot of thought into their rentals. So incredibly kind and thoughtful. I would definitely comeback again.
