This charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage was built in 1904 by a mother as a honeymoon cottage for her newly married daughter. The house is full of character and charm, and is in a premier location in Madison, only 5 houses down from East Wharf Beach. The house can be configured to sleep up to 6 people. Perfect for a family looking for a beach getaway in lovely, scenic Madison, Connecticut. The cottage includes 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an outdoor shower, a living room, dining room and glassed in sunporch. It has newly installed central air-conditioning. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The larger bedroom can accommodate an additional single bed if requested. The sunporch includes a convertible twin sleeper chair for an additional guest. It also has a private backyard, great for BBQs and relaxing after a day at the beach. Stays during peak times from mid-June through August are typically for Saturday to Saturday only. East Wharf Beach is operated by the Town of Madison and just down the street from the cottage. The house is also within a 5 minute drive, or 15 minute bike ride, to Madison's Surf Club, which includes a long sandy beach, playground and snack bar. Guests can walk into the Surf Club for free or purchase a daily parking permit. The house is also a 5 minute drive from the the scenic state beaches at Hammonassett State Park.

Summary: The cottage was just as advertised...beautiful older house with character but all modern amenities, including A/C, W/D, Weber gas grille, etc. It's a very short walk to the beach. Very nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Don't forget the garage in back that contains a bunch of nice amenities - beach chairs, a wagon, two bicycles...I very much enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again next year...

Summary: We loved our stay! Check- in and out was very easy. The house was clean and had every essential needed including beach items. It was a 2 minute walk to the small, semi-private beach. The beach is beautiful and was never packed. There’s a fishing dock, kayak launch area and bathrooms. We loved walking the neighborhood, to multiple beaches and even walked to the surf club! The neighbors and everyone walking were very nice. We rode the bikes around, although could probably use air in the tires and WD40. We recommend Cafe Allegres, Moxies and Christy’s for food. Highly recommend and would definitely love to visit again!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay! The location of the property was perfect- walk to beach, walk to town , wonderful backyard. The house was perfect for me, my husband and two small children, as well as giving us ample room to entertain family and friends during the days and evenings. We actually think it was better than the pics online depicted!! ac system did a fairly decent job keeping the house cool at night (we were there on a hot week!) And the breeze through the day helped too. (Would have loved a screen door on the back entry door in kitchen area!!) We would love to return to this home during future visits to Madison, and have recommended it to many as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
