The property is located in the village of Qala in a traditional quaint alley. The house is built in traditional limestone and includes architectural features which add charm and character. Upon entering the property, one finds a very spacious 300 years old room with limestone arches and very thick walls, which reflects the typical architectural features and techniques applied in those times. The old room is very spacious and has been left nearly bare from furniture in order to allow our guests to admire the architectural importance of the property. The house is in fact located in an Urban Conservation Area, in view of its history and the fact that it is located in a charming old alley, away from it all, thus allowing our guests to relax and enjoy the typical life style of a Gozitan village. Although part of the property is very old, the remaining part has been built in traditional limestone, flag stones and wooden beams. The newly built section of the house has been finished to extremely high standards, to meet our guests requirements.
At ground floor level, one finds a spacious kitchen which has been designed to blend with the décor of the property. In addition, one can also find a spacious dining area, which includes a 3 meter dining table and a living area which includes two three-seater sofas. The living area also enjoys a wood burning fireplace. A shower is also located at ground floor level.
The open plan kitchen/living area overlooks a 10 meter outdoor swimming pool. The outdoor area includes a shaded area which provides our guests with the possibility of comfortable al fresco dining and also includes a gas BBQ. The swimming pool area has also been nicely landscaped. The property has CCTV cameras on the outside area, as an added security benefit to the guests. The cameras are located on the main door leading to the street, on the secondary door of the property leading to the yard and on the outdoor pool area. The CCTV covers the area in front of the main door, the outdoor pool area and the side garden area.
The property has four double bedrooms, two of which lead to a very spacious and sunny terrace over looking the outdoor swimming pool and also enjoys great views. One of the bedrooms leads onto a separate terrace which includes very modern glass railing which ensures that the view can be enjoyed in full. One of the bedrooms is adjoined to an open-space bathroom, having a free standing bath and traditional patterned tiles. In addition, another bedroom has en-suite facilities.
The newly built section of the house has just been finished. In addition, the old section of the house underwent meticulous restoration in order to restore its original beauty. The bathrooms have been finished in gres tiles and include modern fittings and facilities.
It is important to note that the staircase of the house has been finished in Gozitan hard stone which has been quarried from the same village where the house is situated. In fact the stone which was used, has been selected by the world renowned architect Renzo Piano for the Maltese Parliament project, which is situated in Valletta (Malta) and which has become one of the landmarks of our islands.
In addition to this, the property has an additional feature which is quite difficult to find in Gozo. In fact the property has an indoor heated swimming pool which enjoys a spacious relaxation area. Furthermore, the indoor pool area has been decorated in glass mosaic tiles which have been specifically designed for the property and also includes a beautiful feature wall in Gozitan hard stone. The indoor pool area is very bright and airy and includes a shower room and an outdoor area which has been nicely landscaped. The indoor pool also includes massaging jets which enhances the experience of the property, especially during the cold months of the year.

Summary: A wonderful fortnight in beautiful house. Just 3 of us, so plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy. A beautiful renovation of older part of building, beautiful pools and every comfort. A couple of small queries dealt with in an extremely friendly and efficient manner by Franco. Another fabulous holiday on Gorgeous Gozo. People and restaurants as friendly as ever. Can't wait to go back.

Summary: The Muse is a lovely house with stunning views. Fantastic location to explore Gozo and close to the centre of Qala village. We were met by the owners who showed us around. They had tastefully decorated the house for Christmas which was greatly appreciated along with the Christmas goodies. I would highly recommend this property.

Summary: The Muse both met and exceeded our expectations. The location was great being tucked away down a small alley. We were able to park our hire cars close by and the main town square of Qala was only a couple of minutes walk away. The property has been finished to a very high standard with a large open plan living area and well appointed kitchen. The outside pool was very popular with all our party with plenty of sun loungers available to stretch out and relax on. In the evening the pool lights and other external lights could be switched on to create a cosy atmosphere and enjoy a few glasses of wine or beer. We never made use of the indoor pool in the basement nor the gym equipment as we all wanted to enjoy the warm Gozo sunshine. All the bedrooms had air conditioning which was a must given the warm temperatures during our stay. We were a party of 8 adults making use of all four bedrooms and everyone appreciated the comfortable beds. Three of the rooms had en suite bathrooms and there were 2 further bathrooms, one on the same level as three of the bedrooms and one downstairs off the main living area. We all appreciated and made use of the WiFi in the property but no one made use of the TV in the lounge during our stay. Franco provided very clear instructions as to how to get to the property from the ferry terminal at Mgarr, a drive of less than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend the Muse to anyone wanting to visit Gozo. It was a great place to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family. Thanks again Franco for allowing us to stay at your lovely property.

Summary: Stayed here as a family of 4 adults and 2 children. We were met by the owner Franco and shown around. The villa is immaculate and we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Initially the children were disappointed as the indoor pool / hot tub was not heated - but to be honest in July it was much better to use the outdoor pool which was lovely. The restaurants in Qala were good and the atmosphere in the town square at night was very nice. Could have happily stayed at the villa and relaxed for the duration of the holiday but if you want to see more of Gozo, as we did, it was helpful to hire a car / minibus to explore. Summary: We stayed here as a family of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. The house is beautiful, the photos really don't do it justice. There was plenty of space for us all. The house was really well equipped with everything we could have needed. The house was only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Qala village which had couple of restaurants and bars and a mini market/shop. The beach is in walking distance which was a nice walk down but quite a steep walk back up. Franco was very responsive when we had a query. We had a lovely stay here and the house was perfect.

Summary: On our arrival at the villa we were met by the owner, Franco, his wife and their daughters, they were very helpful and showed us round the villa. Which is beautiful, spacious, stylish, clean, and offers everything you need for you holiday. There were also some basic supplies waiting for us. The beds and bedding are of good quality and all of us slept very well there. Set in Qala the location of the villa is a great base to explore Gozo. In Qala there is a small supermarket, chemists, great bars and restaurants, all the locals are very friendly. There is a larger supermarket within easy driving distance towards Victoria, which is also lovely. Qala is just a very short drive down to Hondoq Bay, where boat hire is available. We hired our own boat a couple of times and had two great trips around the islands. We used Eagle Garage in Qala for our airport transfer and car hire, they were very helpful. We hired an open back jeep for our two week holiday, and toured the whole island. The jeep was ideal as there are 7 of us, so we could all go together, which was fun. The neighbours are English and very nice and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful holiday. This is a very special villa, which we would recommend to anyone visiting Gozo. We would like to return one day. Thank you Franco.

Summary: Our party of six adults enjoyed a fabulous holiday in Qala. The house has been renovated to the highest possible standard. It is clean, bright and welcoming. It is also very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and kitchen equipment. Franco checked we were happy with everything and came quickly when the gas ran out on the barbecue, which we were happy about. The outside space is lovely with plenty of loungers and seating. We didn't really use the indoor pool as we spent more time outside but it was an added bonus. Having the indoor pool would make this an ideal winter holiday location. Qala itself is a nice place to stay. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to buy provisions, although we drove to a larger supermarket on the road out of Mgarr to get our bulk buys. We can highly recommend Teddy the Butcher in Victoria for high quality meat for the barbecue! From Qala it's not far to anywhere. There are some lovely beaches nearby. Franco and Consuela have left information about local attractions and some of our party enjoyed kayaking to the Blue Lagoon. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this truly lovely place.
