Chateau Chiens is a holiday cottage in mid-West France, designed for families who want to take their doggy family members on holiday with them. It has what you'd expect for a great family holiday, but with the added benefits for your dogs.
The property consists of 2 double bedrooms one with en-suite, 1 twin bedroom, double sofa bed available in the spacious lounge,
2 bathrooms (1 downstairs) and 1 shower room, dining room, kitchen and dedicated dog room.
There is also free Wifi so you can keep in touch with the world, and loads of English TV channels.
We chose Chateau Garnier for our holiday cottage for a number of reasons:
- you can get there in one day, so you don't need somewhere to stay overnight on the way,
- it has a unique micro-climate that makes it the second sunniest part of France, second only to the Riviera,
- it is in a relaxed and beautiful part of France,
- a rural area, providing loads of lovely dog walks, together with things to do and see, for the rest of the family.
A few of the features that make it ideal for doggy holidays are: Five foot high fencing around the whole acre plot, a large air-conditioned, fully tiled dog room with a purpose-built dog shower (for those muddier walks).
Dogs are welcome in the whole house, we just ask you to keep them in the dog room if you want to go out and about without them.
The local vet in Château-Garnier village, is less than 5 minutes drive. It is open weekdays and Saturday mornings and they also provide an out of hours service. The vets all speak some English, and they can do your passport checks and worming treatments between 5 days and 24 hours before your return journey.
We accept an unlimited number of dogs (within reason), regardless of age, breed or size.

Summary: We enjoyed a restful, two week stay in this property. The weather was beautiful and we were entertained by the visits from our garden neighbours - the tiny lizards! The house was very well appointed, probably more so for the dogs who loved the freedom of the huge garden. The surrounding area is very quiet so if you are looking to sit on your bottom for two weeks you couldn't do better than this.

Summary: We chose the property due to having a reactive dog, we wanted to be calm on our holiday and we where! Lots of space abc our dog loved the air on in his own room! Property had everything you needed, and Lynn was easily contactable at any time

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Everything what we needed was there. Especially the warm welcome with fresh baguette , wine etc. and a welcome letter made our stay from the beginning wonderful. The house is large and although we stayed with 6 persons + 2 children we had enough space. 3 bathrooms are perfect. We enjoyed taking our breakfast in the garden and sitting there in the evening made our holiday perfect. We will come back.

Summary: We have just returned from spending two weeks in this wonderful house. Not only is it the most dog friendly house ever, it is better equipped than the average home! It was so relaxing never having to worry about where the dogs were as the large gardens are fully secured both front and back plus no restrictions in the house. There is a lovely dog room with a warm shower to clean the dogs after a walk. The walks in the surrounding countryside are perfect for dogs and we able to let our dogs off lead. Miles of footpaths (would recommend a map) and we walked many miles! The house is so well equipped that there was never anything we needed that wasn't supplied. It has been fitted out to a high standard and all very comfortable. The surrounding area is very rural and very peaceful with some lovely villages nearby to visit. The owners are always available for any help and are very caring. We can't recommend this property enough.
