Perfect for a weekend getaway or base camp for an extended Colorado adventure. Nestled in the mountains less than an hour from downtown Denver and just 20 minutes from the heart of Evergreen. This German-inspired alpine chalet provides peace and quiet with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large hot tub for relaxing after a long day on the slopes or hiking trails. You're just 20 minutes from Echo Lake (Gateway to Mt Evans/Blue Sky where you can drive the highest paved road in North America), and 25 minutes to Idaho Springs. Hit the trails right out the door, cozy up with a book in front of the stunning mountain views, or visit Echo Mountain (10 minutes up the road) for snow tubing and skiing. Hot tub, dry sauna, DirecTV, family amenities, and large game table will make your stay memorable and relaxing.
Our home is located in a neighborhood and while it feels remote, it's not! Our house is a great fit for you if you like the peace and quiet of the mountains, dark nights, and big views. We want to be respectful of our neighbors, so if you're looking for a remote place for a big party...this isn't it! Thanks for respecting our community!
Note regarding cameras on the property: There are three outdoor security cameras on this property. We use them to monitor the house and outdoor spaces when guests are not at the house. One camera is located near the main entrance and faces the driveway. One camera is located on the south deck. One camera is mounted under the eave on the main deck just above the kitchen dining nook and faces the table and hot tub. The cameras on the decks are turned off upon guest arrival. The camera facing the driveway will remain on and will light up at night when triggered by movement.

Summary: This house was adorable. The description and photos are accurate. The host was super helpful and was also proactive when a windstorm briefly knocked out the power. Before I could reach out to him, he had already messaged me and let me know that the power company is usually quick (he was right). The views are gorgeous-- you are on the side of a mountain! There is plenty of room in the house for your group- a nice selection of pots/pans/sheet pans etc. My group didnt use the sauna or hot tub, but both look well cared for. If you want a host that is great to work with and a mountain house, this is your place to stay!

Summary: Our family trip (Mom & Dad, our three adult kids, their partners and our 2 grandkids) booked this hoping for a magical mountain retreat, and that is exactly what we got. The views will take your breath away! Sitting in the hot tub nested near the top of a mountain is everything you hope it would be! We were even treated to some snow while hot tubbing. The location was great, too. So close to many things. The house is large and gorgeous. The upstairs bath is gorgeous, with a huge tub w/heat lamps & the downstairs bath has heated floors & heat lamps. Large kitchen complete with everything you need to cook & eat. Multi-level decks, a sun porch, lots of spots to hang out together or alone. Highly recommend!

Summary: I have used VRBO a lot and this is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The house was quirky in the best, most retro, kind of way! There were only four of us staying there but I can see how it would have been so easy to have a lot more people there without feeling like you were crowded for space. As much as I loved the house, the home owners were even better! They went above & beyond to make sure our stay was as good as it could be, including coming over several times to shovel and salt the driveway for this group of people who maybe get to see snow once every ten years back home.

Summary: This is the place to go for the perfect combination of quiet and relaxation and activity. Beautiful views from all around the property and close to grocery and wonderful Mexican food. The driveway is narrow and steep but easily maneuverable once acclimated. The house has everything needed including a super responsive owner. Will definitely stay again!

Summary: I stayed here to recharge. It was the middle of a huge snowstorm (fine with me to get some peaceful existence). It was pristine. The property was exactly like the pictures and description, and Jon the owner was fantastic to work with. This property and owner are worth it. I will happily rent this location again from him. Fully stocked kitchen, great amenities, and close enough to do all kinds of things while still being lost!
