New 2007 guest house with full kitchen located on the grounds of pre-Civil War home, Milford II. This two bedroom guest home with private bath, outdoor shower and grill offers privacy in a lovely setting with water views of Stutts and Hudgins Creek from each room.
Enjoy private sandy beaches and pier for family fun, deep water, docking facility for boat owners, boat ramp 10 minutes from lodging, plus an excellent area for kayaks and canoes, all combine to create a great retreat for a week or weekend of fun on the water. Canoe and kayaks available for guest use. Fish or "crab" from private pier, beach or sandbar.
Rigby Island (Hole in the Wall) located at the entrance of the Chesapeake Bay is only 10 minutes by boat. Bring your own boat or schedule a sightseeing tour with a stop at the island for swimming or sunbathing. Area is ideal for cycling with miles of scenic backroads and beaches right outside your front door. Enjoy nearby restaurants and shopping in town, or take a short trip to Gloucester, Irvington and Williamsburg.

Summary: Aside from the intense heat outside, our stay was perfect. The rental was so clean and cozy (super grateful for well working a/c), owners were super friendly and attentive, and the overall grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Summary: Amazing location, close to the town of Mathews but a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city/suburbia. Quiet, meticulously maintained grounds on a protected creek that leads to the Bay. We paid attention to the tides/weather report and had great paddling conditions. Plenty of wildlife, fish, birds, interesting shoreline crabs and native vegetation. Well-designed, modern 2BR apartment over a separate-building/garage with excellent AC and kitchen. Nice breezy deck, outdoor shower and privacy. Awesome stargazing from Moon, too. Hosts are very generous and thoughtful. My only complaint is the VRBO reservation system was wonky and the system was having IT issues when I booked. Not a fault of the hosts, of course.
