Summary: The room was clean and the bed comfortable. My only complaints are: 1. there is no railing for the front steps to get into the hostel and 2. The breakfast is very minimal. You have your choice of cereal, oatmeal or preade waffle you can put in the toaster. No fruit or yogurt or pastries. For someone who is lactose intolerant, I ended up having the waffles each day, which did not help my blood sugar.

Summary: Considering that it was a private room, the price was reasonable. The surrounding area also seemed safe. The accommodation was clean. However, the soundproofing was very poor, and the location was farther from downtown than I had expected. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Summary: The place is nicely located. The staff were phenomenal. Very cute small neighborhood hostel. Building is old, but obviously out of their control. The AC was so noisy. That was within their control to get fixed or replaced. Regardless, we still have a very pleasant stay.

Summary: The front entrance was getting fixed and so a sign gave brief instructions as to how to get in. It was not clear and you needed to walk about 4 homes down turn the corner and go another 4 homes to the alley way and walk an equal distance to see the back entrance. Not a great first impression. The place was very hospitable and clean. We had a 3:41 fire alarm which was a pipe break and lasted about 20 in. Then in the morning at 7:30 they were out of all the mugginess, breads bagels etc, so like not much to have but tea. By 9:30 their grocery supplies had arrived and we had plenty. Then a gal had her water bottle top spray off somehow; I only felt the spray on me but quite a mess overall. The staff were patient and pleasant and helpful. I really liked the place but just a lot of mis-haps with the only one I could really hold the folks responsible was that poor signage and instructions for entry at the front under-construction entrance.

Summary: It was good, we stayed in a private suite and we had our own bathroom, a bed and a bunk bed. there was a large closet space, no tv. It was clean and bed were comfy

Summary: Honestly, this is the best deal in town. Awesome area with plenty of food and nightlife and shopping within easy walking distance. A few blocks from the red/brown/purple lines. Value cannot be beat. It’s a great atmosphere! We got a premium room so we had our own bath/shower. To know, they provided towels but thankfully I had a couple washcloths in my bag. There’s no tv in the room, which I liked. No frills but definitely enough. *I cannot, so far, speak to the dormitory spaces, but the price is great!

Summary: This is a fabulous and affordable place to stay near downtown Chicago. The suite (with several beds and a private bath) worked well for our group. Easy pay-for-parking on-site, walkable to local restaurants and Lincoln Park, great common room: Highly recommend!
