Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. The bach is fun, in a lovely setting amongst amazing old nikau, ferns and forest trees. Had a real homely feel with heaps of fun and interesting art inside and out. The bay window seat in the lounge area was a favourite. I found the bed firm and comfortable (futon style). The check in was easy and communication with John was great. We had a four wheel drive vehicle with us, so were able to access the driveway.

Summary: We stayed in this cottage 10years ago when we got married. Nothing much changed since but we loved the isolation. Being away from the noisy Auckland was needed. Would definitely try come back if it is still available in a few years

Summary: My partner and I visited for Valentine’s weekend and enjoyed the property for 2x nights. The place itself has everything you need - fully equipped kitchen, one bed in the mezzanine, outdoor space and a great bathroom. There is no wifi however, and little service. While we enjoyed our stay, it did feel somewhat eerie, which could be attributed to the weather or the complete seclusion. The best way we could put it, once we pondered on it on the ferry ride home, was that there was a slightly weird energy there, and we wondered what the history of the place was…Still, if you’re generally unaffected by these things, it has everything you need and is well located for island tours on either side.

Summary: We stayed for 2 nights and within that time we walked the local area and toned the legs, we ate at Ki Mata - Onetangi (divine) & Nomads Oneroa (delicious) and the views at both venues was a million dollars!, we relaxed, we drank delicious coffee at home courteous of our hosts, we shopped at lovely very local family owned Four Square, we enjoyed being within mother nature right outside the door and we loved all of it and look forward to doing it again.

Summary: Probably more suited to younger guests, we are 75 & 79,but we coped OK. the setting is very nice and we made friends with the resident Kereru's. We felt it has probably been a much loved family holiday place in the past but maybe the family have grown and moved. All and all we enjoyed our stay, the weather could have been kinder, only one swim, but that is not your fault.
