1 Bedroom Cottage in Georgetown

Private Maine Cottage with 2 bedrms, 1 bath, 2 living rooms, dining room, kitchen, screened porch with views of water, private dirt road. Sleeps 6. First bedroom has queen size bed, second has two twins. One living room has full size futon. We supply linens and towels. Because we are walking distance to public boat launch you can put in your own boat, tie up at the cottage and spend the week exploring all the coast of Georgetown has to offer. Kayak the local islands. If you are not a boater, you can hike the miles and miles of trails available to the public. Or drive less than 5 miles to Reid State Park where you can swim in the waves or sit/walk the sandy beaches. 1car pass included with rental. We are 15 minutes to historic Bath, Maine and the maritime history there. We are located 40 minutes to Freeport and L.L. Bean store and shopping outlets. There are great local restaurants with views of the ocean - including The Osprey at Robinhood Marina and Gray Havens. Or you can bring your own wine and eat the best lobster roll at Five Islands while you enjoy the spectacular views. We offer internet and gas grill. Eat lobster, dig your own clams. Relax, rest and enjoy with us. Enjoy the views, swimming in the ocean, the wildlife from your window including eagles as they fly by and the fish and seals as they jump in the bay. Smoking outside of the home only please. Sorry, no pets.

Summary: We loved our stay at The Gem. Everything was spotless and very welcoming. Host Lisa answered every question right away, and it was a pleasure to meet her. The cottage is much larger than it appears in the photos! Two large living rooms, one with a wonderful view of the river - very tranquil. A full dining room, and a lovely kitchen . Two bedrooms- great mattresses on beds. Staircase is steep, but it’s an older wonderful place with vintage charm, so you must be careful as you step. We had the hang of it in no time, and there are plenty of lights to guide you to the first floor bathroom ! There are tons of good books, puzzles, a flat screen smart tv too. I spent alot of time on the screened in porch overlooking the river, surrounded by the trees and birds. There is intermittent traffic noise across the bridge, but it didn’t bother me. A wonderful cottage !

Summary: The Gem was very comfortable. Wonderful views of the river and the screened in porch was idealic for morning coffee, reading or just listening to the birds. This kitchen had everything a cook would need including a full size refrigerator. The dining room had a large table with seating for six. We spent time in the living spaces which had very comfortable couches and seating.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Gem. The close proximity to Reid State Park was a huge plus and allowed us to explore parts of it we hadn't in the past. The house location on the tidal river gave great views. The house is equipped with most everything you need including fans, games, plenty of towels, and band aids. Lisa was a great host, being available when needed, and allowing us to explore the sand flats from her house nearby. No plastic plates or cups for kids, which I did suggest to our host. I would definitely stay here again.

Summary: This house is perfect, from the wonderful view that greats you from the living room when you enter, to the secluded and shady screened in porch, to the relaxing lawn chairs outside. Lisa is so helpful, a wonderful host. Loved it!

Summary: Very comfortable, although tight for 6 of us (futon, one bathroom). Kitchen stocked with all we needed. Lisa checked in on us after arrival and made us feel very welcome. Great location for kayaking and in land fishing , as well as beaches. Great vacation week.

Summary: The cabin was cozy and very inviting. Georgetown is a nice Little community to explore, and the rental is in a great location to do that. Lisa was super accommodating to any need we had.

Summary: Rental process was easy. The Gem was very spacious. Location was very quiet and relaxing. Location was a short distance from five island lobster, five island store, explored lighthouses located on the island. Reid park was short distance away and park pass was included with rental. Plenty of things to do and explore.
