3 Bedroom Cottage in Alexandria Bay

We invite you to come stay at our classic St.Lawrence River cottage. This private property includes a main cottage that sleeps 4 comfortably and has a large screened-in porch where you and your family can see Boldt Castle and watch the ships slide by. The cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath and includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with a flat screen TV, DVD player, and Wifi internet access. Our guesthouse (sleeps 2) and is available for an additional charge if you need extra space. The docks are a great place to swim, fish and secure your boat during your stay. Make sure to take advantage of the great freshwater fishing in the area! We have caught multiple 14+ inch Bass right from our dock! Additionally, we are only approx 2 miles from downtown Alexandria Bay. This resort river village has restaurants, shops, bars, and scenic boat tour opportunities. The grocery store, drug store and gas stations are only 2 miles from the house as well. If you want to venture off of the property for the day we are only a few miles from the 1000 Islands Bridge that goes over to Canada (bring your passports for easy entry). You can also take a scenic boat tour of the Thousand Islands and visit Boldt Castle or Singer Castle to get a sense of the beautiful natural surroundings and rich history that exists in this part of the country. Golf and tennis are nearby and jet skis and kayaks are available in town to rent as well.
One thing is for sure, if you choose to stay at our cottage, you will create summer memories that will last forever. We know that you will love it as much as we do!!!

Summary: My wife and I were looking for some riverside seclusion, and could not have found a better place. The setting is perfect, right along the St Lawrence River with a fantastic view from the screened in porch or sitting on the rocks right at the shore. The home was a combination of rustic and quant, with a small cottage feel even though there is plenty of room. Everything you need is there, just add food and drink! Very quiet and peaceful as well. From this great base one can explore Alexandria Bay and Clifton, or take a short drive to Wellesley Island for hiking and a beach. Also close by is Canada, with great towns like Gananogue, Kingston (a real gem), and Brockville. Even Ottawa is a nice day trip. But dragging your self away from this great setting was not easy! We were very pleased, and would rent this property again. The owners were responsive and great in every way.

Summary: We rented this property for 4th of July week, 2014. It was perfect because I was able to put my 82 year old father on the screen porch to watch the ships go by - he enjoyed that. The rest of us spent most of our time down at the boathouse, swimming off the dock.There was space to park our motor boat inside, and we also had 2 kayaks and 1 canoe. You cannot see the boathouse or dock from the main house, so if you have kids, you'll have to make sure an adult is down there supervising the water sports. But putting the boathouse on the side meant that you get a clear, unobstructed view of the river from the porch. The guest house is really quite nice - dated, a bit like the 60's, but it's got a full kitchen with a small table, a couch, and then a small bathroom and a small bedroom with 2 single beds. We were there to watch the 4th of july fireworks over Boldt castle-- which you can see from the porch or the dock. It was a perfect evening! We were there with my parents, and 2 teenagers, and we had a 6 and 9 year old come to visit - all age groups had a great time. We never saw Walter the fish, but we saw loons, and a little mink that lives in the rocks near the boathouse. Also, on one of the islands is a Great blue heron Rookery - we motored over there and counted over 12 nests!
