Summary: Our seventh visit: the scale and facilities indoor and out mean that we never tire of it; so much to do and comfy places to crash when we’ve done it.The hosts are kind, cordial, welcoming. The manor is remote and self-sufficient- unless you want to bike the forest, there’s no need to go anywhere. Plan your groceries.

Summary: It was winter so pleasantly surprised the house was generally warm and cosy with the exception of the kitchen which appeared to have no heating and the games room where the heating was turned off.Bed linen and towels were good and beds comfortable. Cleanliness could be better dog hairs everywhere and the main hall smelt of wet dog. Some of the bath mats were mouldy. Some plumbing issues; one shower room was out of action, one of the ensuite toilets did not flush, and in one bidet the plug was jammed so could not be emptied. Unknown to us there was a water leak alarm in one of the bathrooms that went off in the night waking the house. Thankfully the caretaker quickly answered my text with instructions to locate it and turn it off. The kitchen has limited work space and about half the cooking appliances were not to be used.Overall an "interesting" stay.Overall an "

Summary: Just left today after the most amazing weekend at Cleugh Manor. This property delivered all it said and more. Our grandchildren had a digital detox for most of the weekend as the loved being in the pool ( which was cool but not cold and we expected this given the time of year) they had nights at the ‘movies’ with the full on cinema experience and enjoyed each others company. The bedrooms were all clean and the whole house was grand but not so precious that you felt you could not use it. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. We are already looking at booking again as this is not too far for us to travel but far enough away to feel like you are in a special place.
