The Blue Heron is a peaceful respite just 10 minutes away from downtown Cleveland with its world renowned Hospitals, Universities, Cultural Center, Restaurants and Sports venues. Cathedral ceilings, skylights and an open floor plan make this historic, two bedroom one and one half bathroom home light and bright.
Custom cabinetry, marble countertops, upscale appliances, washer/dryer and a fully stocked kitchen provide every convenience. Four French doors and balcony in dining and living area overlook beautiful gardens and lake. Each bedroom also provides lake views showcasing both early morning light and colorful sunset reflections. There is also a private upper patio and access to lakeside Adirondack chairs with fire pit for guest’s use. The natural beauty surrounding this property make it a wonderful place to kick back and relax. Visitors also delight in strolling the tree lined streets of Shaker Heights with its beautiful, historic and landmark homes.

Summary: Debbie was fabulous! As a result of a family emergency plans had to be altered. Debbie was very accommodating and took a major stress off my plate of chaos. The house was lovely. Great location. Such a cute area. The kids loved the neighborhood park and ice cream shop. We will definitely be back.

Summary: This was an amazing location so close to everything and set in a historic mansion neighborhood - as a realtor I greatly appreciated the architectural styles abound and the wonderful neighborhood feel. The cottage itself was super user friendly and adorable. Being able to overlook the beautiful garden and pond beyond with the abundance of birds was so lovely. I came to Ohio for surgery and left feeling like I was there on vacation.

Summary: We stayed for two weeks while I was recovering from a surgery. The place is a nicely remodeled 100? year-old house. Very modern kitchen and both of the bedrooms have skylight with an office space. The stairs to the office space in each room are of bunkbed type so older folks be ware. The master bedroom mattress is very comfortable. The room has lots of full sized dressers to use. One of the windows faces the lake from the master and both of the windows face the lake from the other bedroom. The beds in the other bedroom are comfortable too with their own bathroom. The living room is large with two large doors to a Juliet balcony overlooking the lake. Very peaceful and lots of birds to watch. The yard has a fire pit, grill, kids swing, and chairs. The lake is not fenced off so be mindful if you have small children. The living room has a large wall-mounted TV with the host's Apple TV included as well as other add-ons, e.g., Netflix. There are no TVs in the bedrooms. The location is about 10 minutes from the Cleveland Clinic main campus. Lots of food options that deliver themselves or through Uber Eats. The host Debbie is great. Very responsive and goes out her way to take care of any issues that arise. Our issue was that AT&T was doing work on the street and somehow broke the internet connection. Of course, this is not the host's fault but she really went out of her way to make it right by offering a discount right away (without us asking!) and having AT&T come out the next morning to fix it. This just speaks that in an unlikely event something does go wrong, don't worry too much as Debbie will take care of it and make sure your are satisfied with the resolution.

Summary: Easy access to Cleveland area attractions. Located in neighborhood with older, large/grand homes. The house is on a busy road, but there is plenty of private backyard to enjoy. Kitchen was well outfitted and in common area with dining and great room to make a comfortable living space. Bedrooms are on opposite ends of the hallway for privacy. Both bedrooms however had lofts accessible only with a 10 foot ladder. The ladder felt unsafe. Owner claims only adults should use it but it's much too tempting for children. I would feel safer with an actual staircase.

Summary: We had a serious health issue in our family that required a 5 week stay close to Cleveland Clinic…. It was an awesome place to come back to in the middle of a city to find a beautiful relaxing setting to soothe our anxieties. I felt very safe. Great place for walking! Very light traffic. Deborah did an awesome job to help us with any issue we had! I hope to return at some point in the future to enjoy more things in the area! Thank you Deborah for the fruit and flowers and a lot of extra things there that made our stay more enjoyable!

Summary: Single floor was nice for a senior over 75. The home was perfect for hosting a breakfast with grandchildren and parents. Please provide salt for iced over pathway to front door.

Summary: This was a gift to my daughter and our son-in-law as a short honeymoon getaway after having to change their wedding date at the last minute. I was surprised by the number of texts I kept receiving from them throughout their stay. They were so overwhelmed and enchanted by the beautiful home and the gorgeous surroundings. I got the "nature report" and they were thrilled to have spotted a Blue Heron! Deborah is an amazing and very responsive host. She was in touch with me before and during their stay just to make sure that things were to their liking. I cannot say enough how welcomed the newlyweds felt and how much they enjoyed everything about their stay at Blue Heron. It truly was a blessing to have discovered this quiet, elegant gem in the middle of a busy metropolitan area. Thank you for making this time a very treasured memory for the newlyweds. My husband and I are hoping to visit there also!
