Positive: As I arrived at my room with my case, a lady came out of the adjacent room, saw I was just arriving and said the room was amazing and she was very impressed! She wasn't wrong, the room was huge, as was the bed. The bathroom was beautiful, massive walk in shower, floor and mirror lighting. with plenty of towels and face cloths. There was a big TV, with good selection of channels, and a very comfortable armchair and matching stool to rest walk weary legs. After a long day of driving and sightseeing, it was lovely to be able to relax in comfort for the evening rather than sit on the bed. As a top floor room I also had a sea view balcony and had the door open for a couple of hours before the rain came, that would be a real plus on warm summer evenings. The booking was made on a room only basis. I received an email to say "Rooms are booked on a room only basis and we do not serve breakfast, but we do offer complimentary coffee and pastries each morning from 7.30am". They are really selling themselves short here. I was expecting to collect a takeaway coffee and pastry to eat in my room. The reality was so much better, they do serve breakfast, just not a cooked breakfast or massive choice. It was also not in reception but in the airy hotel bar. I was offered tea or coffee, which was bought on a tray with a pot of tea. I had a choice of cereals, fruit, pastries, plus toast was available fresh to order brought to the table with a choice of jams and marmalade. I enjoyed a lovely light breakfast in a lovely environment, a real fire burning at the other end of the room. The whole hotel was inviting, from the library style reception, the greeting host, lady serving breakfast, and the rooms. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area, and recommend to friends.
Negative: There was really nothing I didn't like. Just one suggestion, there is Nespresso machine in the room with a well stocked selection of tea and coffee, just no instructions how to use it.
Summary: Just about perfect, I wish I had been staying longer than one night!
