Summary: We stayed one night for my wife's 60th birthday. The staff were uniformly nice and welcoming and gave us a couple of treats for the occasion. We had a room with an outside hot tub which was a very nice treat. The grounds are lovely. The food at dinner was very good. My only point of caution for other travellers is that the place is very expensive - as well as the room rate, the vast majority of the wines on the dinner menu were more than £100. So this is one only for the most special of occasions

Summary: Cliveden is truly an amazing place to experience! We have stayed here before and this time was even better. Their staff is also absolutely amazing! We had quite a journey getting to England because our original flight to Paris was canceled so we got to Paris later than anticipated and then the trains to England were down because of the heat wave so we couldn't get to London as originally planned either. After over 24 hours of airports and traveling, canceled flights, missing non refundable bookings etc., I was sobbing in the French airport after being told by the 4th airline that they had nothing available so I called Cliveden in a desperate panic and spoke with Lou who was an angel from above. I poured out everything to her and she was not only apologetic about our situation but empathetic and moved our pre-scheduled treatments to another day, offered credit if we couldn't get there in time to check in etc. She truly could not have been more helpful and I don't think she will ever know how much her compassion meant to us in that moment of utter despair. Cliveden Lou needs a raise! She's wonderful! Thankfully, the story ends well as we were able to make it on a last minute flight addition and were still able to have our fairy tale stay at Cliveden after all. Thank you to all of the staff for such a lovely experience 10/10 will stay here again and highly recommend to all who visit England!

Summary: A historic hotel set within the most stunning of surroundings. Friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable, dining in the main restaurant was somewhat disappointing however.

Summary: Our room was lovely with a hot tub on the terrace. However the terrace needed cleaning and although we mentioned this it didn’t happen. The shower over the bath was difficult to get in & out . Side of bath very high & water was difficult to balance. Again we mentioned this but it stayed the same. When I booked I requested a walk- in shower. I was told I’d need to upgrade& pay more. I was entitled to an upgrade but it didn’t happen. There was a problem on the first morning with breakfast - burnt toast. & overdone eggs. When we told them the hotel were most apologetic & the next day it was perfect. Also they arranged a free boat trip for us. & adjusted our bill so we felt that they had done all they could to rectify the situation . It’s a beautiful hotel & if we hadn’t had the few hiccups it would have been 5 stars all the way. The Spa was excellent.

Summary: We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and from booking to departure, I couldn’t ask for any more. The staff added personal touches and were very attentive. Would highly recommend the Butler’s tour for a background into the history of this amazing house

Summary: Our stay at Cliveden House was absolutely wonderful. From start to finish-even withstanding a blip-it was a true joy. Our room was ready early which was a huge bonus and Polly on reception was warm and thorough with our check-in process, explaining and showing us all we needed to know. Our room was great: super comfy bed with options to change pillows, lovely toiletries by Noble Isle, a fab working fire place and yummy complimentary snacks. We had a delicious lunch in the Great Hall, and even though it took longer than ideal, the numerous games available to play kept us amused. The grounds are magnificent and you can walk for hours taking in nature. We were accommodated for dinner in Astor Grill even though we only attempted to reserve a table in the late afternoon. The food, again, was very good as was the service, although one of our dishes was unfortunately forgotten about. We received it promptly once we reminded the staff. Breakfast in the dining room was wonderful, overlooking the pristine lawns and surrounding woodlands. The quality and service was fantastic; no request was too much trouble. The mix of an à la carte menu along with a buffet for continental items was very pleasing and guaranteed hot items were cooked fresh. Eggs royale is not a menu item but the staff member didn’t hesitate to say yes when requested. We were fortunate to get a late check-out, this lent itself to an extended and relaxed time in the superb spa. A stay that left us wanting more!
