The Hideaway Lodge is a sister property to the Flinthills Hideaway and is located just down the driveway in the red barn. Just a 10 minute drive from the Manhattan mall. This modern rustic space offers an open concept family room/kitchen, a separate lounging area with a large wood burning stove, a private bedroom, a bathroom with shower and laundry and a bonus shed space with ping pong and space to just hang out in inclement weather. The Hideaway Lodge sleeps 6, not counting the airbed. This property is nestled down a winding driveway and provides a peaceful private atmosphere with lovely views and lots of wildlife. If the timing is right, you can help yourself to an apple picking adventure in the orchard. Enjoy the views of the Flint Hills and the vast array of wildlife that ventures through the property. Enjoy a nice one-mile walk around the neighborhood. I love this space and just want others to get to enjoy it as much as I do. Help me keep the memories flowing on this little 10-acre slice of Heaven where I raised my 3 boys. You will love it here! You will likely be sharing the large driveway with the guests from the FlintHills Hideaway.

Summary: Kitchen is well stocked. We were able to cook an Easter dinner with all the kitchen ware. Utilized the small stacked washer and dryer to clean mattress covers.

Summary: If you’re looking for quiet, this is it. A very rural neighborhood 5 miles from the main highway and general hubbub, this is a great place to wind everything down. We stayed in the garage apartment with 4 grownups and 3 kids for 10 days. It was cozy, but very manageable. Nothing is overly fancy, but it suited our family fine. The bathroom is narrow, but functional. To access the shower, you have to step up from the floor level, but there is plenty of hot water. The separate bedroom was very quiet and comfortable. I slept like a rock. The biggest advantage for our family was the acres of outdoor space. We threw the frisbee, ran the dog, listened to the birds, watched the stars (a great bonus this far from the city) and turned the kids out for totally unstructured play. I used the garage like a family fun center for ping pong and potluck. I opened the rollup door and fired up the BBQ in the driveway. We felt very much at home. I would definitely rent it again.

Summary: This is our second visit to the hideaway lodge. It is a cute property only 5 miles from our daughter and grands so it’s perfect for us. It’s big enough to host a dinner for both kids and all grands-they loved the ping pong table! It’s cozy enough for us when they all go home!

Summary: The hideaway is a nice little location outside of Manhattan that is very easy to get to. Laurie is a great host. She is easy to communicate with and willing to help with any needs you may have. The house is well stocked with all the main kitchen and bathroom necessities. This a location that will definitely be on my list to revisit.
