Clyde Cottage is located an easy one hour drive up the Hume Highway from Melbourne in the beautiful Trawool Valley, one of Victoria's best kept secrets.
The National Trust has listed the Trawool Valley as a heritage area and is famous for its natural beauty and diverse range of flora and fauna.
Clyde is situated in the centre of this unique area and has direct access to the unspoilt Goulburn River which flows through the Valley.

Clyde was built in the early 1900's and features wood lined walls and ceilings and has been lovingly renovated to provide comfortable, self contained and private accommodation.
The house consists of 2 bedrooms (1 double and 2 singles)lounge and dining room and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry.
Guests have use of their own private garden area or can stroll through the extensive gardens on the property.
A breakfast basket of local delicacies is provided in the cottage for you to prepare at your leisure in your fully equipped kitchen.
Lunches and dinners can be provided on request and we can also supply gourmet Pizzas from our own wood fired oven.
What to Do
Clyde provides couples or families with the ideal base to explore this superb region; fishing or canoeing on the Goulburn, exploring the local creeks and forests, visiting the numerous restaurants or vineyards or discovering the myriad of other attractions this area has to offer.
The Tallarook to Mansfield Rail Trail runs past the property providing pleasant walks and rides.
Canoe hire for the day or weekend can be arranged.
For the less adventurous you can doze in front of the wood fire or relax in our spacious gardens, or in summer laze around the pool.

Summary: A great family escape not far from Melbourne where we could unwind, huddle around the fire and enjoy quality time with each other playing boardgames and cards and listening to records on the old record player!

Summary: Thank you Judith and David for making us welcome and introducing us to the area. Two nights was simply not enough. We were spoilt with breakfast and enjoyed each day with a bike ride. The gardens and surrounds were peaceful and next time we will go for a dip in the pool. A delightful stay. Thank you, Di and Frank

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful home. We enjoyed a log fire and beautiful home cooked meals from Judith and David who were exceptional hosts. The area has a lot to offer with the bike rail trail going past the front door, and canoeing available in the beautiful Goulburn River.

Summary: My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clyde Cottage. The cottage was clean and inviting with lots of natural light and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The property offers peace and quiet but it also conveniently located to many places of interest. We thoroughly recommend taking the bikes and exploring the old rail track. Thanks to David & Judith and of course Winnie who made us feel very welcome.

Summary: And feel like you have stepped back in time. It is 10km away from any shops, but hosts provide essentials as well as a large library of books and a record player! The rail trail goes past front of property, there were bikes there though we didn't try them out. It is a short walk through cow paddocks to a beautiful river setting. Don't pick this if you want modern, it is a proper piece of history.

Summary: We wanted somewhere self contained, easily accessible from Melbourne that was quiet, relaxing, comfortable and where we felt was in the "bush" and where we could enjoy clear, starry nights. On top of that we wanted easy access to walks and bike rides - and maybe not too far away from where we could paddle in our kayak. Well Clyde cottage was more than that - all of the above plus hospitable and friendly hosts.Judith and David were very welcoming, gave great local advice, left us with generous and tasty breakfast ingredients and food, and then invited us to join them for dinner on their verandah one night to enjoy fab pizzas cooked in their pizza oven and great company with some family and friends. The cottage was very well equipped, expectedly old, but very comfortable and accommodating. The newish Tallarook to Mansfield rail trail fronts their property for walks and bike rides. The only issue was abit of a dodgy TV signal! Highly recommended.
