Positive: My wife and I stayed in a private room. It’s a tad expensive by Nicaraguan standards, but prices everywhere at this lake (the cleanest in the country and one of the cleanest in all of Latin America) are all on the high side. The room we booked on Booking.com was one of three below the reception area, and I can’t recommend them. Hot, not much privacy and small. The nice reception staff allowed us to move to one of the two rooms on the same floor as the reception office, and they are fantastic. Large, two fans, your own private balcony, hammock and chairs, with a beautiful lake view. That act of kindness made our five star review. The food is ok, the staff friendly and attentive. You are a five minute walk from Paradise hostel, where there are games, activities, and a bigger restaurant and bar. But the joy of this place is the small, intimate area. They supply inner tube floats and free kayaks. On the weekends I’ve been told it can be busy here, but we were here on weekdays and it was tranquil and pleasant.

Positive: The location is superb, it's so peaceful & calm & quiet. It's stunning. They have kayaks to rent or just swim around the floating dock. It's also cooler at the Laguna. Staff are working long hours & still have smiles & are always very professional. If you want a time out & a quiet evening & time to reset, this is your place!!

Negative: Sunday is a super busy day with the locals coming on a day pass, so I'd avoid. Menu is a bit limited.

Positive: Right on the lake front, perfect for a night (came from Granada). There are floats you can use and a pontoon to swim out too. Kayak hire is also free. Loads of seats/hammocks to chill in, bar with lovely fresh lemonade and drinks. Table tennis table. Great spot

Negative: The food on offer for dinner wasn’t great but there are a couple spots nearby you could eat at and a kitchen if you want to cook your own food (but no real shop so bring stuff with you)

Summary: Lovely spot to spend a day or two by the lake

Positive: Coco Bay is at an intimate setting on a bend of the Laguna. It seems smaller than the other clubs nearby and therefore I consider it the best choice. Met nice fellow travellers. It gets the day visitors from Granada around 11, they leave at 4. There is some music during the day, good for the ambience and not overly loud. Wifi throughout the whole property, also by the water. Good value for the room with breakfast. Kayaks and floaties are free to use. Lots of sitting areas overlooking the water. The dorm's en-suite bathroom was cleaned daily. Shuttle to Granada several times a day.

Negative: Very good value, so there is little to criticize. The room does not get any airflow, so it stays very warm even during the night. The ventilator on each bed was good but is also highly required. The mattress was a little too soft for my taste.

Summary: the smallest, most chill, and maybe newest of the Laguna clubs

Negative: Rooms were very dim, and there were no power outlets by the beds

Positive: Lovely location right on the lake. Good price and so you get what you pay for! A quick stop over en route to the airport in Managua to fly out to Corn Islands and didn't want to stay in the big city, less than an hour from Coco to the airport for a reasonable price (taxi arranged by the hotel)

Negative: Had a few issues, however the staff were very quick to try and help out. -my door wouldn't close and / or lock with my key but they sorted it out after a while (but I couldn't leave my room until it was mended) -you could see into my room through the curtains when my light was on (rectified with a make-shift bedsheet hanging off rail) -felt very exposed as my room was right on the main walkway up and down to the lake so everyone looked straight in... (fine if you expect this and don't mind!), in future if I stay again I would book one of the darker wooden looking rooms - these are on the first floor with their own little balcony, so you still get the views but not the people walking straight past

Summary: Good stopover for the night, a few niggles but the staff were lovely
