Positive: Richard and Sophie were most hospitable. Nothing was to much trouble which made our stay a real pleasure. We loved the chateau which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We also loved the gardens, dogs, hens and horses! We would highly recommend Colivault to anyone wishing to visit this area.
Negative: There was nothing we didn't like!

Negative: Breakfast - old bread and low quality pastries - basic jam (1 kind), no cheese - at 235 euros per night we would expect a quality breakfast commensurate with the price level. 2nd night we paid direct - no mention of a discount though the owner was saved the booking.com fees Felt stingy.

Positive: I can only echo other outstanding reviews. Our host Richard, and on the last night his daughter Emma, could not have been more friendly or welcoming. The ground floor suite we had booked was superbly appointed and stayed cool in the heatwave even without air-conditioning. The breakfast was of outstanding quality including eggs laid that morning from the chateau's chickens. The swimming pool was open for pre-breakfast swims. Richard made dinner reservations for us. One of our best B&B stays ever.

Positive: The hosts Richard and Sophie were great. They were welcoming, and Richard shared the history of the house and took us out to meet their horses and showed their vineyards and gardens. The grounds are beautiful. The house and rooms are tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were bountiful and delicious. Rooms were spacious and they were cleaned every day. Bathroom fixtures were updated. Richard was also extremely helpful with sightseeing advice and making restaurant reservations.
Negative: It is an older country estate, and so the Orangerie Suite's toilet location (private in suite) was separate from the rest of the new main bathroom. Also, the listing indicates TV, but there is no TV in the Orangerie Suite.
Summary: Relaxing, scenic getaway B&B in the Loire Valley, with welcoming and accommodating hosts.

Positive: Breakfast, rooms, character property, log fire, host, furnishings, restaurant advice. Homemade jams, home grown fruits, orahes, lemons and apples. Also own honey. Richard our host was very helpful and friendly. He added to our three night stay amongst the Chateaux a gastronomic tour of the best nearby restaurants. His recommendations were excellent.
Negative: The property is old and has great character but some parts could benefit from some fresh paint. But this did not affect the enjoyment of the place.
