Collins House is an exceptional heritage listed Palm Beach property, architecturally designed by Arthur Baldwinson. Indulge in magnificent views across Pittwater, Lion Island, Barrenjoey and North Palm Beach from almost anywhere in this north facing property. With open plan living and dining areas that make full use of the decks and expansive views, and situated over three levels, it is the perfect place for holidays and weekend escapes.
The top-level hosts two bedrooms, each with queen size beds and built-in wardrobes, and a shared bathroom with spa bath - perfect to relax in after a long hard day at the beach! Enjoy the spacious living area on this floor, which features a gas fireplace, TV area featuring Foxtel IQ3, separate fridge, dining, and bar area.
The second level features open plan living, dining and kitchen, soaked in light from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors which open to create an indoor/outdoor atmosphere and provide unblemished water views. The kitchen has impressive European appliances, granite benches and is fully equipped. The master bedroom, complete with Queen Bed, ensuite with double shower, and walk-in wardrobe lies just beyond. There is also a separate bathroom for guests and a fully equipped laundry with the latest European washer and drier. The laundry opens onto an outside garden area with an external clothesline. With a wood fireplace on this level, as well as a gas fireplace above, Collins House makes for a delightful getaway year-round.
The ground floor level features an additional 2 bedrooms, one with twin beds perfect for kids and one with a Queen Bed, as well as a separate bathroom.
If you don't feel like cooking, there are a variety of restaurants all within walking distance, including The Boathouse and Dune's Restaurant (both which are rated among the top restaurants in the area) as well as Beach Road Dining at the nearby golf club and the famous Barrenjoey House. It is a nice level walk down to the Palm Beach Golf Course and the sands of Palm Beach just mere meters beyond that!
You're an easy walk or short drive to Pittwater Ferry Terminal where you can catch a ferry to West Head or the Central Coast or do the round-trip; a short walk to the Seaplane Scenic Rides departure point at The Boathouse Restaurant, a great place to have a more energetic walk up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse stopping for refreshments at the Dunes or Boathouse on the way and two minutes easy walk to main bus stops travelling to and from the CBD.

Summary: This property has a wonderful view and is beautifully decorated. Unfortunately it is on a main road and there is a lot of noise. There are also a lot of stairs which our elderly mother found challenging. There is parking for 2 cars but there is a very steep drive and getting in and out is a little treacherous. Compared to other properties where we have stayed I don't think it was worth the money.

Summary: The house is perfect for a diverse group. There are 2 living rooms and the bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable. There is an issue with the stairs. There is 3 steep floors and a steep slippery stairwell to get to the front door. Not suitable for aged or infirm. And not great for carrying small children. All in all it was lovely, I’d love to have a week instead of a weekend.
