Built in the mid 1700’s, this colonial home, houses the perfect, private lower level apartment space to make your stay in colonial Virginia memorable and cozy. With a full spacious kitchen, romantic king bed getaway, huge fireplace, cozy Murphy bunk- bed nook, and access to a shared park-like yard, this is the perfect place to experience your colonial, coastal Virginia adventure! Walking distance to Windsor Castle Park, downtown Smithfield restaurants, brewery, winery and museums. And a scenic drive to Williamsburg, VA Beach, Jamestown settlement, Fort Eustis-Langley, Norfolk and more! **ATTENTION** This is a truly colonial space, come prepared to get the FULL historic experience, as this 1700’s house has original exposed beams, and a uniquely laid out bathroom, several uneven thresholds, - 6’4 shower— and many more charms and oddities and surpises in every nook and cranny. Come prepared for the full experience! There is also a dog on the property, though you may only meet her in the yard every once in a while— and likely never hear her bark! Additionally this is an apartment, **and a family of six lives in the house upstairs. Their living quarters are separated by a floor, but you may hear them come and go through their front door.

Summary: I highly recommend staying at Caroline’s place. The private entrance and garage parking was very convenient, and Smithfield is beautiful. The historic neighborhood was very unique, and I just had to read up on some of the local history in the books available at Caroline’s. Excellent hospitality and I will certainly let be returning in the future.

Summary: This place was so darn cozy, roomy and adorable! My girlfriends and I always do a fun getaway and this is our new addition. The property manager kept me updated on all things and even had the most delicious snack for us when we got there. Even though it ended up being too late(and cold) for the firepit, the PM had all of that ready for us also. 5 STARS for this ROCKSTAR place!

Summary: The stay started out so well with messages from my host, and it was such a beautiful place. I spent a lot of time sleeping in because of the comfy bed, I toyed around in the kitchen, and spent time in the backyard for reflection. The location is perfect, and I didn’t need to drive. It was the best stay I’ve ever had.
