Positive: We stayed at the Comfort Cottage for 2 nights. This is budget/backpacker style accommodation. As it was low season, only 3or4 of the rooms were being used which meant it was quiet. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. It is close to the Canada train line (7minute walk) which means there is easy access to the airport and Vancouver centre. It was cheap but certainly could do with an injection of funds to improved it
Negative: The decor and furnishings are old and dated. The kitchen was poor. Appliances were minimal and only one could be used at a time as they blew the power. If a few people were trying to prepare even a simple meal it would be a nightmare. There were no coffee cups. The tv in the room worked but the only thing that could be accessed was YouTube. There are no shops or restaurants/cafes nearby

Positive: Well located within 11 minutes walking distance from sky train. Independent check-in. Nice room and clean shared bathrooms. There is a small community kitchen, clean as well. Private fridge on every room. Hair-dryer in one of the bathrooms.
Negative: Since there are many rooms (at least 5), it depends on the kind of guests that are staying that they may be more or less respectful during rest hours. On my last 2 nights, other guests were speaking out loud very late at night, but this is not the host's fault.

Positive: Very comfortable queen sized double bed, towels provided. Great location, quiet neighbourhood, on street parking. 5 min walk from Langara metro station, where the City centre line runs every 6 mins until late so very easy to get into downtown Vancouver/airport and back again (15 mins to city centre). Shared bathroom was fine, outdated but clean with a good shower. Access was via door code so self check-in, but Linda was very quick to reply with any questions. We were able to store our bags for the day in the shared lounge downstairs. There was a kettle & cutlery in the room however I didn't locate the cups (we didn't try very hard to look!)
Negative: Nothing, it was perfectly comfortable. By staying town we avoided the high prices of downtown and the traffic noise.
Summary: Ideal, 15 min metro to city centre (runs every 6 mins)

Positive: Check in was very easy and prompt, the place was clean.
Negative: The staff was very very rude when we called for confirmation as it was a critical and last minute booking. We had just missed our ferry and needed a place to stay and we booked it in the Uber as our plans changed for the worst. When we called the staff, the lady was incredibly rude and didn't let me talk at all, instead said that we need to wait for her to send instructions
