Summary: We had a great week at Clos Christina in rural France. The unseasonal weather didn't dampen our experience - great food, fires, family time and day trips to local attractions. It's worth mentioning that the property really is in the middle of nowhere. Aside from the supermarkets there's very little open in the surrounding area and most of the nearby villages seemed deserted. We drove pretty much everywhere. Dieppe (good market on Saturday as advertised), the coast (not really beach weather and hardly beach resorts but Saint-Valery-en-Caux was probably the most interesting local one) and found a great seafood 'van' in Quiberville serving Oysters and wine. We travelled to Rouen via the train. Stunning medieval buidings and cathedral, a pretty good art gallery, restaurants and city vibe. (N.B. the rail service is much reduced and Paris no longer realistically possible as a day trip). Host Russell was super-helpful in finding a local riding school for our 11-year-old twins (they end up going twice!). Plus a fantastic kid-free anniversary meal at Le Columbier restaurant - pricey but a fantastic culinary experience. We didn't watch TV at all (there is no signal), the wi-fi only just about works, so the 'devices' took a back seat. Overall, a great base to explore from, a bit rough around the edges in places, but the property has charm and character in buckets ...as well as lots of firewood! A lovely change from our normal lives.

Summary: We spent two wonderful weeks at Los Cristina. It is a very silent and comfortable place. It is lokated in an area, which allows you to relax and to enjoy the landscape by feet, by bicycle, by car and with swimming at the beautiful coast. Russell is easy to reach and he can help you in all belongs. Irmi and Gerrit

Summary: Peaceful house and garden, great for a rest. Flexible accommodation with plenty of room and options for 6 or more. Everything clean and comfortable with everything needed for the house. Great fun working out how to get the range working properly. Fabulous wood fire for cool evenings. Very convenient for the coast as well as the country. Highlights Honfleur, Rouen centre and Monet's garden at Giverny (at its best in June). Bring your own loungers/deck chairs for the garden.

Summary: Fantastic rustic gite feeling like you are a million miles miles from everything. The garden is stunning and everything you need is in the gite ready for you. Loved the experience of cooking on the Stanley and the kids loved playing hide and seek. Thank you for letting us stay!

Summary: We had a lovely 4 nights at Clos Christina, the cottage is very picturesque, and very well equipped. It was fairly dismal weather but the cottage was warm, and the log fire a roaring success, so much so we stayed in on two evenings rather than venture out we loved it so much! The garden is gorgeous, the sort of place kids would love, and the donkey next door is very friendly (although he had lost his voice). The instructions from the owners were extensive and easy to follow, and we all slept very well. I would suggest bringing slippers if you visit in the colder months. The cottage is well appointed for visiting Dieppe, Rouen etc, I would love to visit again in the summer.

Summary: Family break with a 2 1/2 year old and the in-laws. The house was perfect, in a very quiet area, but only a few minutes in the car to the local town, where you can get everything you need. Having the separate living areas allowed the in-laws to get some peace and quiet and not be woken up at 7!. Weather was a bit cold for spending a lot of time outside, but would recommend a visit to Dieppe and sampling the seafood on offer in the restaurants along the harbour - being able to have Whelks as a starter was unexpected, but much appreciated! Good area if you enjoy getting out on your bike. If you fancy popping out for a quick drink, visit Pascal (nice man) at his small bar in Brachy, he was kind enough to keep it open past the usual closing time (7.30!) so that we could watch all the England v France rugby match. A lovely few days and I'm sure we'll be back.

Summary: We had a wonderful week of relaxation and fun times at this delightful cottage. The accommodation was exactly what we wanted with its homely rustic feel with bags of character. Our three year old boy loved the open space of the beautiful and private cottage garden which was great for hide and seek. The location is also excellent with nice local villages and markets just a short drive away. Highly recommended and can't wait to book another holiday there very soon.
