One of the very best features of Pecan Acres is the superb location. Located in the gated neighborhood of Cypress Bend, you must cross over the Frio River at Comanche Crossing to get to your cabin. Splashing through the Frio River is just the start of your fun! This large acreage property sits WAY back from a quiet country road and is located just below Cat Claw Mountain for spectacular views of the cliffs! Walk or drive to the gated neighborhood Frio River front and start floating!
Yes! This house shares a gated, semi private river front with lots of parking next to the river! Less than a a minute drive from the property, you're river access is to one of the prettiest sections of the Frio River that allows you to really enjoy the water.
As you cross over and through the river into gated Comanche Crossing you immediately feel that you have entered into a very special place – and you have. Only a handful of rental properties are in this small tucked away neighborhood, which is very popular with families from all over Texas.
What makes this vacation home so intriguing is because the house is flanked by the Frio River on one side and the majestic mountain range on the other, so no matter where you look your views are inspirational and breath taking.
Pecan Acres is a two story rock cabin with all pine wood interior and rustic Texas decor. A semi-circular river rock fireplace it the focal point of the open concept great room, while the cute, well equipped kitchen has a counter bar with stools that leads directly into the dining area.
The 20’ vaulted ceilings are great for entertaining and upstairs the cedar staircase landing lets you watch all the action downstairs. Upstairs you'll find (2) built-in twin beds and queen bed in a supersized A-frame bedroom, with ensuite bath. Two bedrooms and baths downstairs make this home easy to relax. Sheets and towels are not provided, but can be for an additional fee if ordered 2 weeks prior to arrival.
As great as the cabin is inside, the outside is where everyone will want to be. The volleyball court, horseshoe pit, rock patio with barbecue and fire pit, with a relaxing covered patio. Big herds of deer feed on the property for everyone to watch.
This little “island” neighborhood is great for tubing, but super safe for your kids to walk, bike and hike. Pecan Acres is one of the least expensive cabin in exclusive Comanche Crossing that has private Frio River frontage!

Summary: The check in process was never explained. The fact that you can’t drop the A/C below 74 was a real pain, the AC upstairs doesn’t cool the room, and the pots and pans could definitely use an upgrade!!!

Summary: We loved the house. The air condition worked really well, even upstairs. We were really close to the water and Garner and the neighborhood was very nice. We loved how far we were from other neighbors, especially since the house next door was full of very loud teenagers. The grill outside was awesome and the fire pit with all the chairs made for some great evening fires and star gazing. The beds were comfortable, although the room with the double beds had very squeaky beds. My only suggestions/complaints was the water came out white from the faucet and the upstairs had no door so it was more of a loft then a bedroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would come here again.

Summary: Had a great time. A bit of a hike to the river if you don't have a golf cart. I was under the impression that the house was water front but, it was not. In a great neighborhood. PERFECT place for kids to play in the river. Overall great house, would rent again.

Summary: We loved this part of the river. You can have the river all to yourself if you get out there in the morning. No one pretty much surfaces till 2:00pm. I will say they make you think you are only sharing this section of the river with 8-10 houses. That is not true. It’s more like 20+ houses around. The second we got to our cabin we went straight to the river. We didn’t realize the state that the bedrooms were in. So at 9:30 at night Nanette had to bring us mattress pad covers for almost all the beds. Which we appreciate, but I’m not sure why when it was cleaned that was not done. A mattress was even dirty- so they had to come again the next day and clean it. She also took the comforters with her because those were not clean either. I would make sure you bring all aspects for your bed. Pillow/Blanket/cover too. We felt the cleanliness would have been their top priority since we are in a pandemic right now- but it doesn’t seem that way. Also all people that came into the house to fix the situation did not have a face mask. Which kind of freaked us out also. Everything is just old and has a yucky film on it. We had to wash all dishes before we used. I will say the outside portion of the house and river were great. The cabin just needs a deep clean since we are living in a pandemic time.

Summary: Was a great little, cozy house for the 12 of us. Nice big back porch and fire pit. The claim of “private river front access” in the rental description is misleading however. This is one of two house in the whole neighbor that doesn’t have private access. We still have to drive a truck down, unload people and stuff, even though there are signs that say no loading or unloading, and then park in the locked parking lot. And also still had to fight for spots on the river with other renters. So “Private” and “riverfront” actually mean a locked parking lot within walking distance to the water. The AC was automatically set to 75 and we couldn’t make it go any lower. The freezer wouldn’t stay cold. The ice we put in there when we got there melted.
