The 1800 square foot 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage which includes two row boats and 3 kayaks is located on the pristine Loon Lake sleeping eight guests comfortably in beds with the ability to accommodate up to 12. Step 40 feet out the back door onto your own private dock where you will enjoy 400 feet of quiet no wake lake frontage, great fishing, snorkeling, non-motorized water sports, loons and beautiful trumpeter swans who will pay you homage.
No matter the season Copper Falls Cottage provides an ideal setting nestled in the Northwoods only 30 minutes from Ashland, 45 minutes from Hayward 25 minutes from Whitecap Mountain Ski Resort you have endless opportunities for year round outdoor recreation including just a five minute driving distance to local ATV and snowmobile trails. Copper Falls Cottage is located inside the gates of Copper Falls State Park in Mellen, WI but is privately owned and managed. With your stay at the cottage you get to enjoy anything that you can walk to in the park for free. You are a 2 minute hike from the nearest trailhead offering year round adventure with groomed hiking, skiing, off road biking and snowshoe trails. The cabin is also only a three minute walk from the public beach where you have the option to rent additional canoes and kayaks.

Summary: Everything was great with our stay. The house is beautiful and well appointed. The lake views and the peaceful setting was just what we needed! Copper Falls State Park is a gem and the hiking was incredible! The town of Mellen is a quaint little town with a nice bar and grill. The area in Ashland county lends itself to day trips to Bayfield and other small towns in Northern WI. Everything was excellent with our stay. The only small issues we had were very minor. The lake although beautiful and sandy bottomed was filled with leaches right near the dock so swimming was a one time thing. Some of the lights in the house weren’t functioning but it didn’t really affect our stay. The internet is very slow and intermittent but that’s also to be expected in that part of the state. Overall a great stay and we would definitely book again!

Summary: Perfect place for family to stay! Appropriate ammenities for a cabin style state park trip. The only thing that was a bit of a negative was low water pressure in the home but I am not sure that can be changed. Lots to do and stunning view from the screen porch. Would definitely come again!

Summary: Resides on Loon Lake with a private dock for fishing, kayak/row boat launch, or just relaxing along the water, watching dragonflies and hummingbirds circling, and listening to the beautiful sound of the loons. Peaceful, close to hiking and waterfalls. Host responds quickly and is very friendly. Would love to return.

Summary: We loved staying at this beautiful and spacious cabin in such a scenic area! The setting gave us a real up north vibe! A couple of the sunnier mornings, we were able to enjoy a gorgeous sunrise across the lake. Loon Lake was small enough to easily kayak the perimeter many times over the 4 days we were there, enjoying several turtle sightings, as well as watching the loons and swans. We enjoyed hiking every day and visiting the amazing waterfalls in the park and nearby. We visited Madeline Island one of the days and soaked in the awesome views of Lake Superior. Our family is taking home some sweet memories. Thank you for keeping up such a great place!

Summary: Very nice place to gather all the kids and spend time at the beach, hiking and a trip into Ashland to see the sites there. From relaxing in the hammock to fishing, from hiking to games on the screened in porch, we loved being together and the great space.
